a good indie movie is very tragic at the same time. When i see a groundbreaking, original film that blows my mind, i cant help but think afterwards that the director/writer is doomed. either they sell out and do a big hollywood film, get labelled and repeat the style over and over, or never work again.

pulp fiction was brilliant, but quentin is still: psycho, with mommy issues, and an ass.

Hopefully if you're not a Spanish speaker it will be called Like Water For Chocolate and will have English subtitles. It's a Mexican film/book. Book originally. Not sure where you can find it. Possibly at your neighbourhood video club - not the ones that only have crap though like USA Video....I passed there the othr day and saw no Indie movies. Maybe I didn't look hard enough though. It was a small branch in Town Centre Mall.

Indie movies are movies made outside the glitz and glamour of hollywood.Hardly anyone ever knows about them and they become underground hits.

I don't know whether this counts as Indie, but it was cool. Heavenly Creatures directed by Peter Jackson and Kate Winslet as supporting actress. Very good. I found a site going very in-depth which is just mervelous! http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/Studio/2194/

Blackice: some are on cable - you have to look out for them. Otherwise renting I guess. Depends on the store.
