I've played through the game 4 times.
There is no 'fastest' way to reach Malak.The path is very linear but whatever you do don't miss the ultimate robes.
On deck two,when you come out from the corridors into the open,the computer room to the left has a computer that makes ight and dark side robes which are the best in the game.
Here's some tips for the Star Forge.
Light Side:
Use your three Jedi.Whatever you do don't let your team get separated from each other.To do this anytime an enemy shows up,pause,target him with everyone and let them all fight this one guy and then do this for everyone.Your Jedi are very powerful together but if you let everyone go their own way you strength will be too spread out and they'll kill you one by one.
Dark Side:
This is a lot harder.Unless you've fully upgraded HK-47 I suggest you use Canderous(like you have a choice).Keep your hero and Bastile together as I wrote above,same strategy except this time always keep Canderous next to them.Since he's ranged he's more likely to fall behind and be killed so keep him close even if it means he can't attack as much.
Tips for beating Malak:
After the first encounter just use a bunch of stims before talking to Malak:
Use adrenal alacrity to give yourself faster speed than Malak,use Knight Speed and he'll just dispell.Now use throw saber,kill droid,kill or whatever to dispatch all the jedi in the tanks.Keep using alacrities so that Malak can't catch up with you.After you've destroyed them all,keep running and when you have a little lead,stop and heal and use all the types of stims you have as well a Master Speed.Now attack Malak and use Master Flurries till he dies.This will work for anyone except a Scoundrel/Consular.If that's what you are then God help you.
Remember:
If you're light side,use the Solari crystal and Upari crystal together in a double bladed saber.
Master flurry is the best melee feat and Master Rapid Shot the best ranged feat.
If you're Dark Side,learn Death Field and Kill or suffer.
If you're light side,learn Stasis Field,Heal and Force Wave or suffer.
Learn Master Speed or suffer.
Do the swoop races,you can get 16000 easy from winning them and doing the Nico sidequest.
Go to the bar on Korriban and buy some premium items,Dominator gauntlets are especially though very expensive.
