Belkin Offering Pre-802.11N Products

"Belkin is offering what it is calling "pre-802.11n" products for mass consumers now. CompUSA is reportedly carrying these items in stores. They claim 800% range improvement over 802.11g as well as full backwards compatibility and the ability to continue pushing out n-speeds when a 802.11g or 802.11b device is introduced to the network."

not to mention the speed increase, which I understand carries through for the majority of the range.

not a massive fall off like with 54g

Exciting times ahead of us.

When these get down to cheap prices, in about a year or two, the LAN will have a real competitor in wireless technology.

hmmm, I doubt wireless will be taking over the wired network in any near future...wires...even copper can currently get up to 40 Gbps, that's not mentioning the stuff of the future like nano tube crap and other things I don't fully understand, but hey, I love wireless...fact is I just had a neighbor get wireless...heheheheh Muahahahahaha....we're gonna play. LOL.
