Frozen, calm down.
You posted here because you wanted people to tell you what they thought, right?
And I'm here, to give you my view on it.
And I'll let you know right now, that your character needs work. And I thought you would -know- better than to use the old 'it's a cartoon' excuse to shrug crictisms like that off. Even Dexter shows some polish (and I'm not talking about the extremely awful second season here), while yours leaves a LOT of room for improvement.

Also, read my most recent post in ShinSagat's thread.
You should never expect ALL reviews on your artwork to be good.
Some of them -will- be brutal, and it's up to you as an artist to find out 'Why did he/she say that?'. You know, unless they just bluntly said 'You suck' without anything else to add, in which case you should ignore them. It is truly unfortunate that you have yet to learn this, because I was subjected to it a LOT before I became what I am today, and even to this DAY I still have a lot to learn. So just try to see where I'm coming from here.

Also, pay a visit to this forum:
http://www.vgcats.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=4

...if you thought I was being mean, take a look at a few threads here, in particular, the Junk art thread, and see what people contribute and what type of feedback they get. I assure you, they are VERY brutal over there. As a matter of fact, their reviews on my work is what inspired me to improve on some of my character designs (one of them said that one of my male characters looked like a girl, so I considered what he said)  Also, pay PARTICULAR attention to the quality of artwork that comes up from several people on the Board.

u make it seem like i drawing anime.
I am drawing cartoons...if u apparently u have no broad horizon in this area. Did u also know that cartoon drawing is very flexible...u can draw it anyhow u want. That is my style of drawing..not everyone draws alike. I did not say he was a stickman...i said he was a cartoon.
Shin sagat was not drawing cartoons..he was drawing stick men. Cartoons dont require much skill to draw but u make it seem like if its extremely hard to do.
Criticing how the man shud look and wat not...u want to change the whole concept of my style.

True....but like I said before, you have to consider what other people think, too. Some people may dig what you're offering to the table, while others may not get it. I'll be honest with you, I don't get your drawing, that's why I offered up my opinion.

True, but you have to admit that it looks like something ShinSagat would draw. And by that, I mean it does look like a stickman. I apologize if I've assumed wrong here.

That depends on how much effort you put into it.
For me, it would take a good THREE hours to come up with a character alone. For me, that is way too much time, so I'm trying to develop a style that won't take so much time and yet would yield the same results.
But just to let you know, cartoons, paintings, EVERYTHING involving art, would take some skill to pull off, just how much of it depends on the artist.

Not true. I just want to see you improve, that's all.

Frozen, I have an idea.
Why don't you sign up and become a member of the VGCats forums?
You can go to the Artist's Alley, post up your work, and see what the multitude of artists (which mainly compose of WEB COMIC ARTISTS and CARTOONISTS) and see what they have to say? Trust me, their advice will help you out a lot.

Before you do, though, you need to know a few things about that forum:

1) Lurk about a bit on the forums. By lurk I mean come in as a guest, look through a few posts and threads, and see how business is carried out there. Know what to do, and know what NOT to do there. Also, read all of the rules that they've posted for everybody's convenience, in the General thread.

2) Introduce yourself in the Newbie Corner. Believe me when I say this, these people are sticklish about people and introductions, and tend to favour people who tell them a little about themselves. Be sure when you're introducing yourself, to tell them a little about yourself, not a whole biography on your life story, mind you, but just some info saying who you are, what you do, and stuff like that.

Also, in this forum, first impressions are everything.
Make a good one, and you will garner respect there.
While you're lurking, check out a few newbie threads and see how various people there are welcomed. It all depends on the first impression they give.

3) Whatever you do, do NOT take EVERYTHING seriously. There are some members on the forum that like to take a few cracks at the new guy. I assure you, this is all 'picong', just some ribbing to see if you have a sense of humour. However, there ARE some you have to take seriously, as they moderate the board. 'm2pt5' and 'jere' are two of them.

4) Be prepared to take any and all types of comments.
These people DEFINE brutal honesty, so if they tell you something, don't be p.o.ed because they may or may not like what they see. Some of these people are professionals, so if they don't like something, they will tell you, plain and simple, that they don't. And, more often than not, they will tell you what they like/don't like about the picture. (sometimes, it helps to ask why, but don't be pushy.) Believe me, I've seen some great pictures in the Artist's Alley, and yet some still find some flaw in it, even though it would look perfect otherwise. That's to tell you how perceptive they are.

So, whenever you're ready, here is the forum:

http://www.vgcats.com/forum

...and here is the site:

http://www.vgcats.com

...looking forward to seeing you there.

To tell you the truth, Sith is right.
Let's not bicker over something like this.
I apologize if I was too rough in my review, Frozen.
What can I say? These things happen to you when stressful things like exams are just three days away and anxiety gets the better of you.

Anyway, on to business.
Here's a pic that personally has me STUMPED.

I had the idea in my head, drew it, coloured it, and.....got completely stumped because dotish me doesn't know what else to do with it.
Any ideas?

Both.
As you probably would imagine, Abominator as is is definitely NOT stand-alone material. He seems to be missing something.
As for the background, that's where I'm really stumped.
I have no CLUE what to insert as his background.

Well, as long as I'm here....
*clap, clap*

A work-in-progress for a little contest they're having on the VGCats forums.
The challenge?
Draw a futuristic witch, wielding some futuristic device typical of a witch (staff, broom, whatever). By all means, this is NOT completed, I have only just started.
Any comments?

That's pretty cool, Sith.
I think I like that one even more than the first.
Anyway, concerning my previous contribution, I'm done.
Now tell me what you guys think:

Meet Sylvia.
If there was any one word to describe this enigmatic young witch, it would have to be MISCHEIF. Using her powers, which consists of a combination of modern technology and ancient sorcery, Sylvia travels across the fabric of time, bouncing from place to place, causing all kinds of mischeif. Though she means no harm, she is capable of using various forms of time manipulation, which is inclusive of slowing down, accelerating and even freezing time. She also uses her mode of transport (she's holding it in the picture), the Nimbus 5000 (a free balloon animal to anybody who guesses where I got that from), to travel at distances and speeds that can range from supersonic to speeds capable of tearing rifts in the fabric of time.

Well, I hope you guys like it.
I did consider the fact that her costume was awfully light for a time travelling witch, (then again, how many of them DO you run across?), so I made her colour scheme darker. I'm not too pleased with the way the legs turned out, but meh.
Live and learn, I guess.

By the way, this is my response issued to a challenge made on the VGCats forums.
The challenge?
Draw a witch/warlock from the future, weilding some form of futuristic spell casting device (be it a staff, broom, wand, whatever.) Well, I guess the Nimbus 5000 would count, considering that it enables Sylvia to propel herself through time.

Well, that's enough nonsense from me.
Later, dudes.

Ok for the background for "abominator" since he looks like he ready to run i say put a kinda high speed background thingie...darkish. Well wat i tryin to say is like put the right side visible going into a motion blured winded left.....u can try to paint over some of his body on a new layer and then set it to difference....
As for the second one......no clue..still hafta think

Just a little something I'm working on.
Call it a by-product of speakers blasting Knight Man's tune from Mega Man 6, and sheer undisputed BOREDOM.

Whammo. More New Era-induced mayhem!

Something I've been working on in the last couple of days.
Unfortunately, it fell short of my expectations when I finally completed it.
Here's the original art, sans the background:
