They did kill Batman in the older Justice leauge cartoons....Some sort of explosion at a factory.....But he was rally unconscious and later lost his memory for a few weeks......he eventually remembered his parent's death and how he became Batmon through an accident involving an orphan boy.....so he donned the black thights again.

not being stereotyical here but i tink daz the reason i like green lantern cause he black is a good change but aquaman was a boss eh even doh he not an active member

batman has never been a member of the justice league because he is a so called loner.

From the very first time he was asked to join the league he told them no. team work is not my thing, but anytime they need him he will be there.

hmm there are two origins of the jla golden age and post golden age

the originals are SUPERMAN( FOUNDER AND PRESIDENT)
wonderwoman, jon jon, flash(annoying), hawk man(golden age), hawkgirl(post golden age) and of course the lantern( hal jordan in golden age), guy gardner (post golden age). the black lantern is in the comics but was never a founding member, he joined after the death of hal jordan and the removal of guy gardner
