NRAM : non volitile random access memory
« on: June 08, 2004, 11:30:29 PM »
Using Carbon nanotubes LSI logic plans to nanotube technology on a standard semiconductor line.....
Which means .... more ram... LOTS LOTS more ram.. cheaper.. faster.. and  now... when T&TEC decides to kill the power.. we won't loose our savegames!

and if they can put this into processors, instead of 90nm chips  next year and .65nm 2 years again... we could have 10nm chips before 2010 !... they will be tiny.. cheap and faaast...  The chips will be... less than a quarter the currant size... alot cooler and faster.. and cheeep... gigs of ram will become the standard... maybe then we can get proper solid state  drives.

We are still quite some ways off from any of this...they're still in the pilot stages...would help if you linked to the story too...

actually I think that NOVRAM is the correct version to NRAM
Righteousness can only be acheived by one who has good intentions and a non-biased perspective...hence the only alignment for a true paladin is neutral good and not lawful good.

no specs available... its in the development stage.. but it IS possible.. and since you CAN use a standard chip production facility.. with some modifications... it won't cost the big companies much to move to this... once its ready.
