because this cost a huge amount of money and time to organise, as has happened b4, we think that ac is nice etc, and den we were upset when we heard no more, it is a very costly venture, and i dont even think genesis does keep d proceeds

My own spin on this: You know what, Anime City has a lot of good and some suspected bad. I've said this in the past and I'll say it again:

Those who complain about the content at Anime City, try to get involved in the organizing of the show. I'm sure Genesis is always willing to get some extra help. That way you'll get to give some proper input. GATT putting on an anime show itself, last I checked, is something that is not very feasible. It involves an awful lot of planning, capital expenditure, effective advertising and general hard work from many individuals who quite frankly either don't know how to go about these things or are too busy to do it - or both.

Genesis had to come a long way before getting to the AC shows that we know and complain about - rather than be happy for what we got and give some constructive criticism to the right sources. You may be surprised, but that sort of thing could actually work. I'm going to be the last person to claim to know about the inner workings of Genesis, but I do know that it's no cheap or easy thing to do. A little feedback properly worded to the right sources and a little getting involved to make a difference goes a long way.

I'm saying all this because before and after every AC event, there are posts here about how bad the show was, and how they don't do this and that, or show this show or that show. How they don't like how Hafeez does this or that. Well - if you don't like it, make a difference instead of just complaining. Approach Hafeez, tell him - in the right way, not just a slam of negativity - what could be done better next time, and perhaps what there could be a little less of.

Now all that said, here's the reality of the entire thing. Anime City attracts a huge crowd, the majority of whom enjoy the event and will keep coming back, regardless of how many Naruto is shown. Regardless of whether or not it's illegal to pay to see fansubs. Regardless of how much or little of the profit is kept by Genesis and how much or little goes to charity. They won't care about the intracies that we do. So just griping about it here on the forum - guess what? It won't do squat. Stop complaining and do something.

If you want an alternative to AC, start doing the research and see how you could organise an event of your own at some point in the future. Don't set an early date and try to rush it - set a date that will give you time to plan, raise funds and execute properly. See who else could be involed; what they can and can't do, and organise to suit. See who would be willing to sponsor, who would be willing to attend. Do something instead of complaining for a change.
