A tale of two Tekkens: Clash of the Titans
« on: May 14, 2004, 05:54:17 PM »
Today, I was granted the blessing to witness a war between two warriors.

JR Ghost and Bryan Master as they squared off in Total Tekken.

Score when I left.

16 - 04

It was a Brutal Beating by Bryan

The man hasn't lost the gift.

Still the best of the best of the best.

JR, we have some training to do! (Bob need not apply, this beating too brisk and brazen for you, lol)

Suhuweat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I take it this was Console?
I've tried console tekken only once, didn't get very far.  Next time I'm up at Euro Baego you'll have to teach me some console.
I think I'd stand a chance against most ppl in Arcade.

Tekken is a game that was really meant for arcade. The amount of string combos and the kind of movements you need to do just can't be performed as well on a console. It can be copied with enough practice and one can become a good pad player, but it would never fare as well as the Arcade. The Koreans always testify to this.

Never the less I waas some good games and Jr kept at it and didn't give up. But it wasn't an all out tornado it was more like a small storm cause Jr wasn't as good on controller and me i had to readjust from T4 to TTT. Also I wasn't satisfied with my consistency with juggles and the sorts. Altho I did manage to land Bryans most difficult combo and one of the most damageing in the game on Him (Stun Knee into Fisherman slam~3,3 f,f+2). That was probably only the second or first time I landed it on a human opponent so I was quite happy with  that. That was right after u left Baego.

You can be sure that the battle has just begun and there is more yet to come. -peace-....

It's always better to start from smaller and work your way up. The way I and other high level players play it will make it very hard for you to get a move in the best advice is to watch to high level players play and observe and learn from them. If u jump in unprepared you'll just end up getting creamed and loseing intrest. Believe me it happend to me. The first time I played tekken I got creamed from a scruby Paul while using the same paul at that. It got me so vex the tactics that he used that I stoped playing until late in T3 so u see the jist I'm getting

Learn the moves and trics from the best and then practice them on people your level or a little higher. Don't waste your time with scrubs and people lower than you. It'll only result in you going lower than present. Cool

Anyways, I might be in again next friday depending on how things run. Or maybe I might surprise yall in the middle of the week or at HQ. Don't know yet Keep your eyes peeled

Trust me man start small Bryan giving good advice. Im one of his past victims when i first encountered this man in the arcades of chaguanas i thought i could take him.I was wrong he on a whole other level and still is .

Lets just put it this way if Im a Jounin..... Bryan would be a Senin.

He is leagues above most tekkenites i seen and played.

JR Ghost , Baego ,Bryan Master when tourney time roll around I will be ready.

I will give allyuh a fight to remember

*might put it all on the line and fight in meh drawers like Heihachi*

I am up for the challenge Kheulith. Bring it anytime and we will work on our skillz.

It will take every last ounce of talant for us to reach the level to beat Bryan Master.

Ghost, you better come for some training too. lol

Lixxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

PS. Bryan, Next time we will run some Tekken 4, I want to see if my Jin has improved since that last beating at SnS.

Well...............what can i say- - Great games Bryan. U are truly a worthy oppenent. U have restored my zeal to play tekken once again like how i used to play many moons ago. As u said we both could not play our best, me more than u though 'cause u are more accustomed to console than i am........so we should settle this in the arcade. Will be a great fight whoever wins. Have not played players of this level for some time now.

And Baego, although he beat me in the first bout(really bad), i caught on to how his method of fighting was and i was able to make some adjustments to my game, although i couldn't fully adjust because of these f***king control pads, which reulted in me winning alot more in our second bout. He is an excellent player Baego, i see why u can't beat him at all. Yes we will train  for the tournament.....let me know when

Will look foward to many more battles

Chaguanas?  Seriously?  You guys probably cut my @$$ plenty then!  :P
I used to work for the owners of Galaxy Games, so I'd be everywhere from Gulf to Town and everywhere in between.  Since I living in central I used to spend some of my gaming time in the Centre City arcade ('94 - '98 ).  Tekken was my primary game, but I dabbled in everything.
I'm not very good, but at least I try!

Yeah boy ghost, nottin like a collect phone call from 1-800-LI[X] to put the desire to train hard iymc.

Bryan is a boss, but we will take him down!!!! (probably when he's 75 and suffering from alzheimers, but down none the less!!)

I am a big Gulf City arcade veteran computerman. We may have crossed paths there many moons ago.

Sup Jr. glad u can make it. U gus stop it:bowing: , your makein me blush   :kiss2:

But seriously now folks. Realizeing also that you wern't at your best. I also too wern't playing my best. U see when people come really close to beating me I usually start to play harder. Which is why I love challenge. So if u start playing harder expect to face a more hardcore Bryan. Instinctively, when people lose a certain amount of games to me I start to play easier which is why I somtimes use characters like Jacks and Kuma, altho I can play them, but i'll mostly do so on friendly games. But I deffniately see that U have potential JR G so i' looking foward to playing you again expecially on and arcade joystick. I'll even use a pad while u use a stick if i have to. But if u beat me i'll switch tho :razz2:

Yes, you probably cut my @$$, but then again there were so many!  :-P
I used to be there, a few years back, mostly in the afternoon (after work) or sometimes for a 30mins during lunch.  But I spent most of my arcade days in Chaguanas and La Pique.  I started with Yoshimitsu in the first Tekken, skipped Tekken II (waste of time), and stuck with Yoshi for Tekken 3.  Although I can 'almost' play with some of the other characters.

Actually palladin2 & I used to play the games before they hit the arcade locally, while he was buliding them.  :D

lol @ jack

I want you to try and beat me with Jack boy Bryan. Punchin bag iymc.

palladin2 used to build arcade machines? I wonder if he could rig up an X Arcade for us for cheap?

Tekken II wasn't a waste of time yuh mc!!! That was the debut of Bruce!! De baddest tekken character (after Jin). Still have the best jump kick in the game.

I used to be in La Pique regular too. Never really gamed in chagauanas though.

I see that and raise u twenty. As a matter of fact I put up my highest streak in arcade wit Jack 2 and bryan abot 50-60 wins. I could have put it up with other character but people always stoped coming in after like 10 and sort wins and then left me to finish the games to start challenging again. So I guess Jack was the trp so be warned.
