thirst is nothing, budget is everything

what is the budget?

if you get a 440 (non se) you'd be much better off. 30% faster.

If your budget allows, ti 4200.

I know a guy selling one for $600.00

actually the geforce 2 ultra/ TI is still one of the best budget grafix cards to get..

but it won't play new games like Prince of Persia at all, and games like Far Cry will be missing alot of FX... try to get a grafix card that fully supports directX 8, it has all the features of 9, just a little slower and less detail.

look
i think trini should get ban from posting anything resembling a technical post
he talkin mess

a ti 4200 is not a bargain card
it is worth the still high price tag, so is the 4800

they arent cheap but they arent that expensive and deserve more than the title "budget" card

If you could squeeze a lil more blood out the stone I would reccomend the non-pro 9600 instead of the se though - though there are different versions all i've seen have the narrower memory bus - but if the se is the price range you gotta stick within thats the best card for your money there.

i have 3 brothers and have been clouted several times by all of them...

the 9600SE is in the same performance range as the 9200... and in the same price range.. the SE has direct X 9 but the 9200 pro is a little faster becuase of the 64 bit RAM controller on the SE [like a 5200 64 bit, but not nearly as bad ]

i would want to go with a 9600 non pro... they are not castrated like the SE cards so they will perform alot better when gaming [ 30-40%] .

i meant to say TI 4200... the 9600 pro just barely breaks 11000 3d marks, the ti 4200-4600 reach that range as well..
