I gotta say Nintendo
They’re always unique, they don’t always hit but they’re hit to miss ratio is far better than anyone else on their production scale.

Then, Capcom and Polophony Digital

Then, Ubisoft

Then, Konami

Then, EA sports and Rare (tie)
I would have put rare higher up but they are no longer second party Nintendo so they lost some points.

Nintendo has been out quite a long time....dats why their ratio is better cause theyv'e missed enough times to learn their lesson

Ubisoft : raven shield, prince of persia, etc.
Sierra: half life, homeworlds etc.
LucasArts: KOTOR , JK:JOK
Microsoft : halo, age of empires etc.
Atari : unreal tournament etc.

Why publishers?

Why not developers? Developers make the game. Publishers distribute and fund them.

My favorite are IO Interactive (Hitman, Freedom Fighters), Squaresoft, Rockstar (for GTA alone...imagine that), and EA's done some stuff I love.

yeah imperial is rite, the consolers not getting the applause they deserve, namco, capcom and snk have been masters in the arena for years

For me, the list would have to be:

1. Capcom. Do I really have to tell you why?
(sigh) Very well....

2. Konami. MGS2 kicks ass, and Konami rules for staking their claim on the Yu-Gi-Oh! series.

3. Squaresoft. Nearly every game they have come out with has been a hit with me. I'm dying to play FF right now, just to get a taste of the game that started it all.

4. Rockstar Games. If you don't know why this is here, you need some sweet cutass. I mean that.

5. Midway. If some people would give the Mortal Kombat series a chance other than the blah reason that it's 'Mortal Kombat', then they'd see why I put midway here.

EA has brought out good titles these past 2 years
that people have thoroughly enjoyed

A big "BOO" to everyone that said EA.
That blood sucking entity is draining the life from the industry.Absorbing and destroying good development houses and taking original ideas and slapping licenses onto substandard games,EA more than any other publisher needs to be taken down.
