AMD processors can reach 60C without serious damage.... but a cpu can jump 15C under serious stress for extended periods ie. 3d rendering, video editing......
it only costs 15USD for a good, quieter fan/heatsink.
i know overclocking voids the warranty.... thats the point of getting a better fan/heat sink . Overclocking causes no damage to any part as long as the part is adequately cooled and the overclock is sane [ no more than 30% more than original speed on athlons, 50% on pentiums ]
overclocking only causes instability in the system ONLY IF there is too much heat or not enough voltage available .
