once the mobo supports the CPU and vidoe card it is okay,
  the 5200 is not laggy on windows startup but it IS THE WORST VIDEO CARD I HAVE EVER TOUCHED! it is laggy with wolfenstein on 640x480, medium settings, truform off , AA off etc. on a 900mhz athlon with DDR 266 . It lags in sim city, it lags in HALF LIFE! the colour quality isn't any better than the DX8 radeons and the texture quality SUX

I have a 5200 in my system and i have no complaints,. its handled everything ive thrown at it, its supported nicely with my ram and processor but the card is cool dude, it cannot friggin possibly be the worst card ever.

He's been ranting about how bad the 5200 is for quite a while now. He says his brother got one and it plays like crap...yet, everyone else that I know with a 5200 (ultra AND non-ultra) are thrilled with their purchases. It's no high-end card, but it certainly isn't anywhere near the piece of crap that he makes it out to be.

I shudder to think of sitting behind a pc with anything less than 256 in this day and age...I've a friend who had 128 in her pc...fortunate for her she only does school projects on it...but every time I visited her, it was painful to watch her do anything...so I dug around and found a stick of 128 that I had stashed away for a while and dropped it in for her. Much better

Besides, ram is still fairly inexpensive and a stick of 256 won't break the bank...splurge a little, you'll be oh so happy you did. Hell, I had a stick of 512 in mine and I still threw in a 2nd one to keep 'im company...can't have too much ram

 the 5200 non ultra 64bit is slower than integ! it comes with 8ns ram , no fan, it can't play HALF LIFE without lag

 there IS a 64bit 5200, it is the same class as the 9200 SE [ dirt cheap] and slower im most areas .

 the site isn't english but it has the data. You can get both cards for around 50 USD .

800x600??? that doesn't fall in the catagory of "good card" .... you can still get a geforce 4 TI for  150TT more and it will be 2x the speed, DX9 is useless if you cannot max out the settings .

considering that the Geforce FX 5600/5700 is 128 bit and a radeon 9700/9500/8500 is 256 bit the 5200s slowness is probably because of its 64 bitage

I'll be able to run this at a substantial level. At least good enough for me to get through the game at about 45-50FPS which fits me nicely. Again, as mentioned before, I'm more focusing on my PC's compatibility with HL2 than D3 and it can run HL2 with ease so anything else can take a back seat for all I care.
