Hi Val is a brand synonymous with high value. Basically, a product that you pay very little for but does a lot.

By this definition, they are spot on. Definetly not the best piece of kit on the market, but surely one of the "higher value" items.

This is in stark contrast to High Performance equipment that, as the name suggests, run at the pinnacle of their class but cost a premium.

If you pay US$100 for a Liteon DVD Writer and it works ok-ish, that is high value.

If you pay us$350 for a Sony DVD Writer and it works great and comes with a kitchen sink, that is high performance.

All in all, I would read some reviews on the hardware (this applies to ALL hardware) before casting aspersions on it. This is important because each product a manufacturer creates are likely to have pros and cons all to themselves that a solid reviewer will pick up and discourse on. Just lumping all products from one manufacturer in a "that is sh!t or that is quality" is not sensible.

It is a natural human practice...but it's not sensible.

Hoss, forget the manufacturer hype.

Go to a review site and see what a IT Technician / professional has to say about it from first hand trials and tests that he performed on the unit in comparison to other DVD burners out on the market.

I am sure you will find a wealth of more potent info than just the "specs" thrown out by the creator of the device.

well it was said that the -R was takin hold of the market...well locally anyway....coz it cheaper than the +R

coz ppl in trinidad too friggin cheap !!!!

coz from wha i knew +R was better....it good that the +R format takin over

i only hope the +R go play on my dvd player

my only problem with burning dvd is the blanks ...i cant find any real good one cheap.....and i agree i believe that + is supposed to be better or that it will win the wars between the - ...but then again i dont know the advantages and stuff ...but i think the + burns data more acuratly than - ....not sure thou

I personally prefer the +R variant. More reliable burns for me. Also, 4x +R actually burns at 4x, unlike the 4x -R which only sometimes burns at 4x for me. Or at least this has been my experience. Tried multiple brands btw.

Wizz has some decently priced 4x media...$12-15 per disc on the generic stuff. Does the job for now.
