sisqo - thong song <--girls start wearing tongs like crazy
unknown - ent <---almost everyone in trinidad saying ent now, i can't remember who sing it though thats why i put unknown

Ronnie McIntsoh was behind ent.  You really must have been out the country long.  Ppl were using that years before the song came out.  That's where he got the word from.

ROFL.

The Cro-Cro song from this year that showing the divisiveness that already there in the society.

"Jean and Dinah" - the Mighty Sparrow.  Calypso was never the same after that.

Anything by Snoop-dizzle.  Big hardback man saying "fo shizzle" because of that.

I'd mention Marian Anderson getting blanked from singing in Constitution Hall in the 1960s, (the march on Washington), but that is a big part of US History, and I not sure that Trinis want to hear about that.

The banning of "Soca Baptist" in 1979 that make Superblue a star.

The mass indifference and poor record sales of the song "Time hard, hold tight" in 1987.   As a result, Neil "Iwer" George makes the decision to sing fast-paced soca songs to make a dollar, starting with "Boom Boom Time" in 1987.  This leads to years of crappy and disposable soca (subjective) by George and his contemporaries, such as "Let me see your hand hand..." as well as the controversial (at the time) "Bottom in the road".  Worse yet, other young singers emulate him, leading to the Impulse phenomenon.

If allyuh did buy the boy when he was singing message music, the soca woulda be a lot more melodic.

Bumper is a Caribbean quollocial term of old.

I've been hearing that years ago.  Boy, for a person who doesn't get out that much, I know a lot more about these things than those who do go out often.

LMAO @ Jean and Dinah.  That song was real bad.
