For men like Xen. GGXX is a FAR more balanced game because of many factors. Things like the availability of specific sub-elements of the gameplay add to this balance. Things like Faultless Defense (the green aura when blocking) which pushes back your opponent when you guard helps keep those characters that are rush happy off your back and give you time plan your next move. What separates GGX for GGXX is the introduction of the burst bar feature in the latter. The burst bar features as a combo breaker of sorts which does exactly what the name implies. The great thing about this is the fact that the bar gets refilled by getting hit. So the longer the combo, the quicker your bar fills up and the quicker you get out of danger. This is just but one of the aspects in gamplay changes from X to XX. Something worthy of mention would also be the increased gravity in XX. This takes away some of the more ridiculous juggle combos that were in X and makes for shorter combos in general. The recovery feature has also been become more lenient in XX allowing yourself to escape combos that you normally wouldn't bother trying to escape in X. There are a few other things, but the main things are what I mentioned and slower gameplay. That's what comes to mind right now, but I may post other reasons as they come to me or vice versa.
