Problems with the Anime Story-Volume I
« on: January 09, 2004, 05:29:56 PM »
I'm actually not going to start.  I would like to see what other people thought went wrong with the story before I post my own thoughts.  The way i figure, if we identify the problems, it won't be so........crapty next time.

Disorganization is the first and formost of them, i dont think anybody really understand what each character waz about, should have detailed info about each character. That way the other characters would know how to properly interact with each other.

Overpowered/unrealistic characters were another.  Come on, a vampire priest?

How many people in that story were immortal?

Disorganization.  WE WALKED AROUND A BLOODY TOWN FOR LIKE 5 PAGES!!!

I'll post more later, i can't think of anymore

i think anime story just doomed to fail
i mean, we either organize to much or not at all(this is the majority)
maybe we should just give up
or pick a more controled setting instead of the cliched fantasy one

Anime Story...I'm sorry, i'm not too familiar with it...
Is this some kind of project, by the way?
If it is, maybe I could have a look at it and let you guys know what I think...

ok, well the vampire priest profile made sense, if u think about it, and as to disorganisation, we had a plan for it but we couldn't confirm it...

and also there is the problem that ppl do not be online that often, but we can resolve it somehow, also ppl did not try to keep this one alive...

i'll try to post more later...

well the way i see it
do the story first
and send the ppl acting out the story
the guidelines of the story
the main points
the character main interaction
and all that stuff should be decided beforehand
as in b4 d story start

all other stuff can be ad-libbed by the character writers once it holds within the lines of the story

Don't insult my character.

Lemme see you come up with a character of integrity, intelligence, power and respect like Evanguard, but still contain some of the greatest weaknesses of his kind. I see ShowTime never read my profile properly...Oh well...

Next time-we'll organise the entire storyline beforehand.

oooo lorrrdd.
this story was not doomed to fail it was just that some egos were to big and there was a major lack of communication amongst the writers and some people had nothing good to write

Lafiel why don't you lead the next story? That should be kool. I think you have a lot of creative talent. Also If you can keep a clan together, why not a story?
...and the fault is my own...

ok, just to humor u, i re-read ur character profile, and there was nothing written about weaknesses or drawbacks...for the record.  It was not my intention to single you out, i just didn't want to use too many examples when i talked about unrealistic characters.  If it wasn't you it was going to be somebody else, so don't take it too hard.

and maybe i should have been more specific.  along with the unrealistic characters, people portrayed their characters unrealistically.  I'm being careful not to point any fingers here, but there were peopel who were supposed to be alive for hundreds of years, yet they can't speak proper english.  Not being able to speak english in the first place would be more realistic, yet time consuming, but they meet up in this town and they're talking broken english and slang.

The egos were another huge problem.  Everone was a hero.  Everyone wanted to take the lead and go where...?  Not one place.  We walked around a broken city for how long?  I just kinda sat back and watched everything happen.

I DO want to be in the next anime story, but as a villain.  Hero's suck.
