Need some console people to voice some of their concerns, ideas suggestions here.

It is a move that is gonna be made by me (or at least an attempt as best as I can), to help consolers navigate the GATT populace and otherwise.

I expect to hear from certain GATTers who made themselves known for some serious console men and others who have not voiced there concern as yet.

Please say something open your mouth and let's get this werking.

i think tha console gaming is overlooked by alot of the gatters now adays
i remember the last time it was to have a console tournament(31st august).....me ninja and redeye reach dow nHQ and we was ready to go......and nobody ent come
i think tha we could try to organise some more tourneys or so, or get consoling more active at the GL's.........thas all for now

My only concern is the control pad i use . I can't play using a PS pad plain and simple. I am Dreamcast baby.  This barrier has kept me back and it pisses me off when i see great competition in games I know I'm good at , and I'm forced to stay out of it because I can't perform as well as I know I can. Likewise, some PS enthusiasts can't or won't play on the Dreamcast because of the same thing. But enough about me.

Now ever since I've been here , I've been trying to sell the idea of having a very large scale , multi-game national tournament much like the Evolution Fighting Game Championships and the Tougeki Super Battle Opera . I believe that Name of the Game from a year ago was supposed to be something like that , but IMO was poorly organized and poorly executed. I know many who would say this would be a big jump from the normal GATT tourneys , or that it would be costly and time consuming but I  honestly believe that it could be done. It is my belief that there is alot of undiscovered talent in this country , and that these tourneys will draw the best gamers out  and I'm sure in the process GATT will have many new members.

I'd like some feedback on this.

That's my reason for staying out of that scene also.
I can't use ps pads for some reason. N64 and DC's ok, but not as well as my wingman. And about drawing the best gamers. When I was in the arcade I told lots of people about gatt when I saw their skill. They didn't wanna join, saying that a club takes the fun out of it. It's like we're NBA and they're street B-ball. And they like it out there.

Well with people always blasting the consoles boasting about how much better PC is  (but always seemingly forgetting that they also cost a hell of a lot more) alot of the console enthusiasts take it as waste of time cause more often that not, if a game is also out on computer or emulated, you ALWAYS hear "Oh this game is crap unless I have my keyboard and mouse" or someting to that effect. If its a split screen game, the fact that someone is better never seems to register and cries of cheating and "looking in my screen" are heard. Consoles have alot of potential in GATT but the PC "hardcore" gamers need to open their minds and lighten the hell up a bit! *teleports out grumbling something about being poor*

I agree with you 100%, rb2k2.
I think that there should be a big multi-gaming tournament in Trinidad...not just these informal sweats that we've been having and spectating behind the closed doors of GATT and GATT-related GLs.
I, in particular, would love nothing more than to compete in the ultimate fighting game tournament, where the hotmen of GATT can flex their muscles, show what they're made of, and earn a little respect and fame for their efforts. I honestly think we should pursue this ideal....it's a really great idea, and I wouldn't mind putting up a little something for it, if money is an issue....

You know the saying, 343....'different strokes for different folks'.
If these 'hardcore PC gamers' feel that way, then let them...it's just what they're best in. I, while I am a console gamer, I'm not one to mind a few games on the old PC every once in a while...it keeps me...flexible, so to speak. As for those whiners who must have 'just the right conditions' to be a 'decent gamer', I say phooey on them.
A gamer must be capable of being flexible, no matter what situation he's in....then again, I can't wring a 360 on a PC like killa can...[at least I think it's killa].....no offense to you guys who can't manage on other controls, of course, I mean, who is flexible with everything, right?
I'm just talking about people who could play if they wanted to, but just simply play the ass when up against a formidable opponent or something like that.

I was going to help in organizing the now defunct Tekken 4 tourney that was supposed to take place last year.
If anyone is serious about organizing something like this and they want a hand then I'm your man.I'm pretty sure I can run a fighting game tourney better than those jokers at name of the game.

but the only thing i see solving the low attendance problems is multiple titles.
yeah could have tekken 4 but throw in a little tekken tag
have Soul Calibur throw in a little Deadly Alliance

Guilty Spark,you really need to be a bit less talkative here.

Console gaming is looked at as nothing more than something to do while Battle Field is loading up.  That's when you would find the most ppl gathering around there anywayz coz the place (HQ) is dead quiet.

Ppl are very stubborn when you try to explain even the simplest of things to them like the "heights" behind a game.  I say if we move an arcade machine inside every GL, it will be golden.

On a more serious note here, I think things like game exhibitions and things like tournament videos to distribute among the peoples of GATT would draw more attention.  But for the short term, if a Console Beef could be organized soon it would be great.  All console challenges could be met and what not.  That could work for now.

I believe imperial has a good point. Few people take themselves seriously as gamers in terms of honing their craft.

The other point that seems necessary is that we don't put enuff (accessable) information for the masses or just for each other we all just do our thing in our own little holes and not take the time to properly disseminate the information and or understand it. I am not pointing fingers, in fact if I point fingers I will have to turn it right back at my self in many instances.

I think we need to write more abotu what we do, and we need to READ more abotu what we do.

GATT has this site up for a myriad diferent reasons and yet people come on it every day to talk crap like what yuh eat for christmas and all kind of broohaa.

Where are the articles on latest realeases? Where is the "hype" on some discovered combo, pictures, website links and so forth and so on.

This is a community we need to communicate. Hopefully this thread is the beginning of some interesting happenings.

That would be the most dead portion of the forums I'd think.  Ppl here aren't that serious about this thing.  And other's that maybe serious will think things like giving strats and stuff would make them more beatable.

That's a good point imperial , but seriously , i mean u and i have been exchanging strats and videos for some time ,how much more beatable has it really made us ?

I for one dont mind sharing my stuff , been doing it since i've been here , always trying to step up the competition in gatt, evolve the level of play to something as good as what i've seen (u'll cry if u see these "freaks" as many would call them).

I used to be very active in the Tekken online community.If you go to gamefaqs under TTT you can see some of my work.

Something I'd like to get back into but unfortunately fighting games live from the arcade,not from a living room.Without the arcade competitive spirit,I think it loses something.
