OK, I don't know how everyone seems to have 'missed' this one, but from what I've read, its the Xeon counterpart to the E8400, and because its a server chip, it needs a little less voltage to operate, which translates to much lower overclocking voltages.

If I had the money I would certainly sting it.

Don't stick on this one folks.  You're not likely to see one of these again.

Meamyam, yuh get these parts off the back of a truck or wha?  :)

Lol, no just wanting to upgrade a bit. I was actually just wondering if I should have elaborated on the e8400 comparison as I did find it strange no one commented on this. Then I saw your post like you read my mind :D. Thanks for the

So this is 775  can this work in ordinary boards that accepts core 2's etc?? or server boards alone?

Its almost identical to the E8400, so yes, any mobo that accepts 45 nm CPUs will accept this one.

I've  already researched this, so I'm not guessing. Hence the reason I'm interested.

it will work on any board that can support it, my board (p35 gigabyte) can support it, check on the manu's site they should have a compatibility listing of sort.

Sweet chip here from the reviews on that one. Seems like it can oc to 4ghz easy on air cooling with little bumping on the voltage.

Arc and O/C does be goin competition lol
