X-Box , GameCube and PS2 Emulators

people keep talling me that there are next gen emulators i i keep telling them there aren,t but they don,t listen please put an end to the argument!

There is a GCN emulator in development right now. It's still very early, but there are pics of Zelda Wind Waker being played on the emulator. It's just wire frames at the moment, but I still think this is a great accomplishment for such a new system. When i get a hold of the pics I'll post them here.

The PS2 emulator just plays demos, no commercial games, yet.

The Xbox emulator's progress is at the same level as the PS2, but development on it has been really slow.

Actually the GC emu is a hoax and was always one as the last one before it. it was clearly stated by many emu teams that next gen console emus would need 4ghz class cpus to handle the load. the only emu to be actively progressing is PCSX2 which is the ONLY working PS2 emu. which with the new release can actually reach in game 3d before crashing.
there is a Xbox emu BUT its no where near plausible or playable. its basically a theory. the fact is that it will be a few more years before they have fully running emus.

There is a ps2 emulator that fully plays Devil May Cry, it's the only commercial game for the ps2 emulated so far.
There is an xbox emulator that runs halo but not at optimal speed as yet but the game plays.
I have no info about a gamecube emulator being successful
There are rumours and pics that there are working DC emulators but just like in the past they were mostly photoshoped screenshots so I highly suggest you folks dont get hyped up when you see screenshots only. One DC emu was successful a few months ago but the coding is being redone at the moment due to the high system requirements needed to accomplish average frames in the game.

Did some research on the nex-gen emulation scene and this is my summary...

It's very difficult to emulate these modern consoles. These companies have all gotten wise and raised the bar when it comes to piracy in terms of cracking (refering to the GCN media cd) and hacking. I think Nintendo was a bit careless when making the GBA. The security settings on it sucks. I believe the easiest console to be emulated is the Xbox mainly because it's based on specs that are identical to a PC . I also believe they'll have the same success with the GCN emulator as they have with the Dreamcast (N.B. There is an unreleased playable Dreamcast emulator for windows, but the author is not planning on releasing it anytime soon) and the PS2 will have the same kind of emulation success as the Playstation 1.

So it all comes down to this:-

X-Box emulation = N64 emulation
PS2 emulation = PS1 emulation ( I think sony made it that way, I'm just guessing they did)
Gamecube emulation = Dreamcast emulation

i have an xbox emulator but it doesnt work.I assume u need a very powerful graphics card and lots of ram and high processor speed.See in an xbox,it doesnt need resources to run an os

Not to mention that XBox and co games are specifically optimized for their own specifications.

PS2 will potentially be the toughest to emulate.Any game that takes full advantage of the Emotion Engine,due to it's sheer calculation power will run around a P4.GC and XBox have 32 bit processors but PS2 processor is miles ahead of them in bits(128) and ability.
So any game that makes serious use of the EE for AI or whatever could give hackers hell to emulate.
