if your best friend commited suicide (not saying this happened just an example) you might not think that.

if you REALLY cared about someone, it wouldnt be that easy just to move on. Sure u can be optimistic about it etc and say that their problem are now solved cuz hey! they're DEAD, nothing to bug them now! But that just does NOT cut it.

of COURSE u will have more than one reason (we should think) to do such a thing, but in the end it is the selfish and stupid choice. In the end, someone else is hurt and harmed. (no quoting LP after this please pple)

just learn to ride the rough waves, it will get better, it always does somehow, you just need to learn to appreciate what IS good in life.

like i told someone a long time ago, all it takes is ONE real reason to live.

i never met my grandfather but he had cancer and my mom told me that he was in so much pain, couldn't use the toilet properly etc...i mean...how could anyone live the rest of their live in pain that cant be cured? ppl with illness could be happier dead because they either are aged and lived life to their fullest or too much pain to live on until the final moment

yeah i agree with butters, that is the only time i can see this being an option, because you know this is all there will ever be.
And in this case, your loved one's will be the one's who are selfish for begrudging you the end of your pain.

and dont come back and tell me that i can apply that statement to when you arent a victim of terminal illness or are suffering a different kind of pain, because in that case, it can't be helped, in the other, it CAN.

to commit suicide
has to have an extremely serious problem
suicide can be done in many ways
it can be fast and with least amount of pain
or slow and painfull
fast would be like hanging yourself
slow would be like starving yourself becuase of your weight and end up becoming anorexic(spelling)
or going under the influence of drugs...
it slowly kills you
depression leads to suicide
we just have to control our depression
by any means necessary...

and remember that depression etc can be due to hormonal and such imbalances, so if its really bad, see a doctor...

i agree wit allyuh how suicide is for thte weak and so on and life is a gift from god and we as mere mortals do not have the righht to take it so that bein said .... wat if u r the only one here, u r not loved and there is too nmuch crap in yuh life to deal wit.....if yuh life is worhtless to u cuz u r unwanted and unloved then cud u take yuh life?

if there iz a point to living
shouldn't we be careful with our descisions with the choices we have?
doesnt this bring about the idea of careful in life itself
we must cherish our life
and not make selfish descisions
we can live our life how we want
but we must be wary their are consequences for bad choices...

firstly...i believe it is my body and i can decide what i want to do with it...

...2...depression can very hard to detect until it too late...

...3...many ppl have posted here without any experience of suicide whether it be a friend or oneself...

...4...it is also unfair to say that those who have attempted suicide are weak because no-one lives the same life...

...5...i think if someone wants to commit suicide because they cant take the pressures of life...they should...
...it is better than them taking someone else's life...

I think about death too much. The ppl who go up against me in the Freestyle thread are on the wrong end of the spectrum of life in the "word".

suicide is selfish. and just because i haven't done it doesn't mean that i dont know, or just because i'm not a suicide survivor doesn't mean that i'm clueless. suicide is a blatant disregard of others feelings esp. those closest to you, if nothing else.

I know alot of people on gatt try to have a 'don't care' attitude, but to make comments like "if u want to kill ur mc self,i say go ahead!" is irresponsible. How would society prevail if everyone who had a problem just killed themselves? The whole point of problems are to make you stronger. (What doesn't kill you makes you stronger....ya know?) By running away from them is where the weakness comes in. Now everyone else has to go on living with their own problems and on top of that, they have to deal with the loss of a loved one.

It's not fair, really.

Over the past year and a half i've seen people i know and cared about in one way or the other leave this world. There are 2 main ones that stand out in my memories , one of my best friends from my school days taking his own life so that he wouldnt have to suffer later on. The other being that dreaded accident from last year which took the life of my best friend Mark (wanton)almost took my 2 other good friends Bob and Bloodbath(who btw is still recovering) . When I look back on it , I can't do anything but wonder if I could have helped avoid the tragedy. Some have told me that I'm lucky i wasnt with them , to this day i have always thought otherwise , that they could have been alive and well if i was around. That day shall forever haunt me as the day my friends needed me the most and i couldnt help them. As much as it hurts to remember i find strength in knowing that Mark is now in a better place now and that in lifetime he touched many persons in many different ways. Personally i dont know where i would be if he wasnt around to guide me after secondary school. I thank god for allowing me to have met someone like Mark, all the good times the original foak corp. had , times that are too rare. All that remains now are memories . I am glad that Bob made it out of there alive , and it changed his whole perspective on life. As for Bloodbath i can't say anything more than he's a tough person and i am more than confident he will be back soon.

I'm sorry if this seems out of place here , but these are the things that cross my mind whenever i think about death on the whole.
