Clone CD is gone forever

LATELY I have been getting a constant stream of letters asking me about CloneCD, the CD copying program by Elaborate Bytes. Because I am simply getting sick of responding to all those letters one at a time, I will print the press release. Dated though it may be, it details the programs giant leap sideways to Antigua. If you care, it went here, they are good guys. The picture says it all, doesn't it? µ

Elaborate Bytes AG stops selling CloneCD

Cham, 2003-09-11 - As a reaction to the new Copyright Law in Europe, Elaborate Bytes AG has to stop the distribution of CloneCD. The new law, which will come into force in Germany in the next days, will prohibit to copy protected media - even for private use.

CloneCD will neither be available as a boxed version in the big stores nor as an online version from Switzerland. Bilateral contracts between Switzerland and most of the European countries prohibit the sale from Switzerland to the respective countries.

Elaborate Bytes AG will sell the rights of CloneCD to SlySoft, a company located on Antigua. Only the online version of CloneCD will be available for sale on the Internet. The price will approximately stay the same and the clients of Elaborate Bytes will keep their one-year free update rights.

At this point the team of Elaborate Bytes will say thank you for the long-standing loyality of its costumers and hopes that the new products will lead to the same satisfaction ;-)

Actually, I use CloneCD. Great program. Yet another good program bites the dust while dreck like Outlook Express and MSIE continue to spread their filth worldwide.

A company based in Antigua sells it. Version 4.3 IYMC.

Dear valued CloneCD customers,

last September all rights of the product "CloneCD"
from Elaborate Bytes were transferred to us, SlySoft
Multimedia Solutions, Inc.

CloneCD-Users, who purchased their license from Elaborate
Bytes, can update to the new version from SlySoft, Inc.
free of charge, but please not the following:

o You can only update, if your license key is not
older than one year.

o During installation of the new version, the old
one will be uninstalled.

o A registered CloneCD Version must be installed
during the installation.

o VirtualCloneDrive ist no longer included in the
CloneCD distribution!

We are sorry, but a rebate for Elaborate Bytes customers,
who own a CloneCD key longer than one year, is not possible.

ImageDrive is dredd man business!! How can I play my PS game images on my PC without it??? (Games I have for PS bla bla). i staying with my 4.2 with my imagedrive yesh.... Imagedrive too dredd to give up...

Not that I use that crap, since I'm all about open source...but I surf newsgroups and ....
you can find ANYTHING on alt.binaries
get hooked up to a nntp server and go to alt.binaries, you just have to watch out for the porn if your faith/morals conflict with it like me...
