Rome : Total War

I was always a fan of Shogun and other total war games but this takes the cake. It is dramatised and tweaked to perfection, perfect musical score , generals giving speeches to their troops ,  its like a movie played out in 3d . The engine is impressive in its flexibility, several TV shows use it to illustrate battles ( history channel, BBC ) .

Yes there are elephants, pigs ( that katch fire and run around) and even big rotwielers, the range of units to command are impressive, almost every staple unit of the european civilizations between 300BC - 200 AD is there .
  The graphics don't shine a light to Warhammer or even warcraft, but remember battles can have up to 6000 units ! no machine yet can handle that many highly detailed models .

I think it was one of the best of last year by far. Great action and intellegent tactics.

As for the graphics...the difference between this game and Warhammer is that this one is intended to be viewed from a distance. And even when you zoom in the models look good. Not as detailed as Warhammer, but good nonetheless.

Overall the visuals are excellent.

that game might take some time geting used to...but it look really detailed from everyday functions to total war

like that fact that the history channel uses it so that mean it must be historically accurate
