The Matrix: Revolutions
« on: November 06, 2003, 01:05:51 AM »
well, well, well. We have finally reached the end. It was one helluva ride.

There is so much that I would like to say about this movie, but I know many have not yet seen it. I myself have not seen it enough times, but regardless.

This movie does not dissappoint. This movie is the best ending to a trilogy that I've ever seen. "good" does not even begin to scratch the surface. I can remember leaving the cinema feeling so fulfilled, so different, as if a major revelation was given to me. As if, i would never have to see the movie again, because it made so much sense, the pure cohesive unit was so perfect, and also as if, if i went right back into the cinema, which i almost did, the repeat ride would be even better.

the story: exquisite. It maintains the slightly mysterious, mystic style of the progression of the story, that was found in the original is maintained. Something, not found in Reloaded. The philosophy and neat computer geeky stuff is also more under-the-covers and much more palatable. Something, also, not found in Reloaded. Not to mention REALLY epic. really. really. wow.

sound: really wonderful. they chucked the metal from the first and the techno from the second and gave it proper epic orchestral coolness.

gfx/fx: more than beautful. immersive, big, plenty. very very cool

fighting: wha' ah go tell yuh? it rell friggin badd. I may be betraying you by telling you this, but it should only be minor. observe, the familiarity of many of the techniques.

You may notice the strange familiarity of many things in this movie. It just adds to the coherent beauty, that is this end.

oh, it ain't really the end. we still gettin games, comics and DVDs. it'll probably end up being like star wars, where every 8 months or so, we'll get another piece of media relating to some obsure little choonky bit of the matrix universe. eh, i don't mind.
