 I'm running mine on stock , you can't feel any more performance overclocked unless you have a RAID and SLI  to keep lots of data and frames  flowing , otherwise its bottlenecked.
  Also you'd want a good cooler with heatpipes , or water . While its a cool chip on stock , you won't be able to run it 24/7 @ 3.33ghz and expect it to live long .
    I have an extra  core 2 duo motherboard on me now... you can use a celeron for a few months till you buy the core 2 , want it ? .

Umm dude by next year you'll be looking at Core 2 QUAD... NOT DUO... get with the times man.. Kentfield is out THIS MONTH :p

Before they used 2 cpus effectively..bah. I glad yes. Buy up all dem new and expensive stuff wee so we more efficient aka el cheapo customers go get ting cheap..er.

The projected price of that CPU is $1000+ US eh.
Lemme see how much of allyuh will REALLY be able to afford it.  WITHIN the next 18-24 months.   

Ah go stick with dual-core for now.

Dual core is good enough for me anyways... and US$200 - US$300 now can get all of us a good enough dual core CPU to last for a good 3-4 years at least.

Quad core is for celeb-type incomes, the kind who'd buy a gold Razr or something, and they'd STILL not know how to configure their own dial-up connection. overkill for us..... PCmark have to give socres of 30K on a quad core system for me to take notice.

Consider that most applications STILL yet to make full use of Dual core efficiencies...

 its not a big deal anyway, most of the newer conroe motherboards suppot quad core , so you can go dual now , wait a year or two for the price to come down and get it. 
    Crysis minimum spec is a 3ghz P4 , recommends a dual core , no quad cores necassary.

quads come into their own video / photo / 3d rendering etc, I can tell you rendering video on c2d takes 45 min- 1 hr for a 2 hr dvd, quad would be 1/2 that or close to, and this is supposed to be real time rendering, so 2 hrs -> 45 min is a big jump.

For games, dual core is enough, for now.
