The following is a list of characters from the Tekken Tekken (鉄拳 lit. iron fist) is a series of fighter games developed and produced by Namco. Originally an arcade game, it has been ported to some video game consoles, such as the Sony Playstation.
Tekken involves the fighting styles of:
Karate: Heihachi Mishima, Kazuya Mishima, Jin Kazama;
Kung Fu: Lei Wulong, Ling Xiaoyu, Julia Chang, Fang Wei, Wang Jinrei;
Tae Kwon Do: Hwoarang, Baek Doo-San;

Fighting games are video games in which players fight each other or computer enemies with martial arts. Along with fixed shooters, they are traditionally at home in the arcades, and are considered separate from Sports games such as wrestling, boxing and "ultimate fighting" video games.
The genre is also often referred to as beat 'em up and contains two major sub-genres.

Kazuya MishimaSon of Heihachi Mishima and father of Jin Kazama. Fights using the Mishima style. He was abused as a child by his father, being thrown from a cliff to test his "power" as the highlight. Kazuya managed to recover and made a pact with the devil in order to kill Heihachi. Kazuya also felt his father was favoring his foster brother, Lee, over him when he sent Lee to study in America, which he deemed ridiculous since he was so much stronger than his brother. Having gained leadership of the Zaibatsu he hired Ganryu, Anna and Bruce as his bodyguards and appointed Lee as his secretary (during which time they were on considerably better terms). Kazuya was inexplicably attracted to Jun Kazama upon seeing her and she brought out his more human side, which was no small feat. During Tekken 2 Heihachi turned out to still be alive after all - surviving the fall from a tall cliff that Kazuya threw him from. After winning the Tekken 2 contest in a twist of malicious irony Heihachi casts him into a volcano to get rid of him. Until his body was found by the G corporation and he was resurrected with superior genetic technology. He visits Tekken 4 in order to take his final revenge from his father. Kazuya lost both to Jin and Heihachi, but managed to escape the Jack-4s who invades Hon-Maru, and is believed to announce Tekken 5.
Jin KazamaAlso known as the boy who became a protagonist against all odds. He grew up in the forest with his mother, Jun, not knowing anything about his father, until one fateful night the Ogre decided to attack Jun Kazama. Jin ran out of the house before it happened so he did not see it, but to assume his mother anything but dead would have been ludicrous. Thus, with nowhere to go, he sought out his grandfather Heihachi in hopes of Heihachi training him to be a fighter competent enough to avenge his mother. Heihachi, however, intended to merely use him as a pawn in his quest to harness the Ogre. Jin ended up defeating the Ogre but was immediately shot in the forehead by Heihachi, having served his purpose. It was then that the Devil within Jin- for he had inherited the Devil's blood from his father, Kazuya - awakened and saved him from death while lunging and slamming Heihachi into the concrete ground for good measure. He then disappears for 2 years. He returns in Tekken 4 with the resolve to disavow his cursed blood; he learns a new fighting style and decides to set about killing both Kazuya and Heihachi and dying without children so that the legacy of the Devil may not prevail. Jin is the winner of Tekken 4 and does not kill anyone. He flies away after the fight in Hon-maru but then, an army of Jack-4s invades Hon-maru and kills Heihachi, while Kazuya escapes.
Heihachi MishimaHost of the "King of the Iron Fist Tournament", Jin's grandfather, fights with the power of the Mishima Style. Every few years he hosts the "King of the Iron Fist Tournament" offering the prize of owning the Mishima Zaibatsu to attract the strongest fighters all over the world. At the end of the tournament, he fights the last man standing in the contest. In the first Tekken contest he is beaten by his son, Kazuya. Kazuya tosses him off a cliff just like his dad did to him when he was young. In Tekken 2 it turns out he didn't die from the fall. He returns to find his son his holding another "King of the Iron Fist Tournament." After winning the contest he has a showdown with Kazuya, who turns into Devil before their last fight. After defeating Kazuya/Devil he tosses his body into a volcano. In Tekken 3 his Tekken Forces (Tekkenshu in the Japanese version) finds ruins in South America and discovery Ogre who destroys them all. Heihachi takes in Jin and teaches him Mishima style karate for his own selfish purposes of getting to Ogre. 19 years after Tekken 2, Tekken 3 is announced. 2 years later Heihachi's forces raid the G corporations facilities to discover that Kazuya has been resurrected by the corporation. He holds Tekken 4 in attempt to lure Kazuya so that he may capture Kazuya and experiment on him to extract the "Devil gene" for his own evil purposes. Jin is the winner of Tekken 4 and directly after the Hon-maru fight he flies away without killing anyone. An army of Jack-4 units invade the Hon-maru. Both Heihachi and Kazuya manage to destroy some of the Jacks, but Kazuya saw a way out and left Heihachi, who was captured by the Jack-4 army, and the Jacks blow themselves up, killing Heihachi. However, many doubt Heihachi is actually dead.
Nina WilliamsAn Irish Assassination Martial Artist who borrows concepts from Aikido and Bone Martial Arts who shares a rivalry with her sister Anna. Nina blames Anna for the death of their father Richard Williams. She has a history of being contracted to kill Mishimas and failing due to untimely quarrels with her sister; she was captured by Kazuya Mishima after failing to assassinate him in Tekken 2 and used as a guinea pig in the "cold sleep" project (cryonisation). She has lost her memory as a result and during Tekken 3 was controlled by Ogre and manipulated to try and kill Jin Kazama. In Tekken 4 she was returning to life as an assassin and hired by the mob to kill Steve Fox, who turned out to be her son from being artificially impregnated while in cold sleep (the identity of the father is unknown, though many assume it to be Lee). She has no memories of her previous life or Anna.
Anna WilliamsNina's brunette sister also trained in Assassination Martial Arts; Extrovert extraordinaire. Anna blames Nina for the death of their father Richard Williams. Made a point through Tekkens 1-3 of foiling all of Nina's assassination attempts by showing up at exactly the wrong place and the wrong time, and is portrayed as an all-around nicer, more sociable person than her sister. She was hired in Tekken 2 to be Kazuya's bodyguard along with Michelle Chang and Ganryu, and during that time was (allegedly) a girlfriend to Lee ChaoLan until that part of her life was cut short by choosing to be put into "cold sleep" with her sister (the storyline is ambiguous regarding the cause -- she said she didn't want to turn old while her sister remained young, but it's hinted that in actuality would miss her sister who she really just wants to be at peace with). She did not lose her memory and was not controlled by Ogre upon waking from Cold Sleep, unlike her sister, and attended Tekken 3 in an attempt to stop Nina from becoming an assassin again. In Tekken 4 she is mysteriously and inexplicably absent.
Paul PhoenixJudo expert, Tekken veteran and good friend of the Law's. His fighting skills have achieved the legendary status, yet whenever he makes it to the final battle there is always something along the lines of a traffic jam, a silly mistake or some other thing to preventing him from winning the tournament. He tied with Kazuya Mishima during Tekken 2, which was no small feat considering Kazuya had the Devil's powers to help him. He is running a dojo of his own when he hears about the Tekken 4 Tournament.
HwoarangA Tae Kwon Do fighter. Rival of Jin Kazama and former student of Baek Doo-san. When he received word of Baek's death at the hands of Ogre, he entered Tekken 3 to seek revenge. He also desires to settle a score with Jin Kazama, who fought him to an embarrassing draw during a match. He has been drafted into the Korean armed forces when he hears about Tekken 4; he subsequently deserts to enter the tournament.
Marshall LawA Chinese American who models himself after Bruce Lee.
Forrest LawA Chinese fighter based on Bruce Lee. Forrest is Marshall Law's son and a good friend of Paul Phoenix, much like his father. He dislikes riding on Paul's motorcycle as it makes him nauseous. He only appeared in Tekken 3, when supposedly Marshall was unavailable and Paul decided to take Forrest along with him to the tournament instead.
Lei WulongA five-form martial artist based on Jackie Chan. During Tekkens 2 and 3, Lei was a respected police officer dubbed "super police" who put countless criminals behind bars. He was investigating the illegal hunting and trading of endangered animals done by the Mishima Zaibatsu during Tekken 2 and set out to stop the assassin the mob sent to kill Steve Fox (Nina Williams) during Tekken 4 in order to restore his waning reputation. Lei is fond of naps. He enters Tekken 5 to help Asuka Kazama who is looking for the man who nearly killed her father.
YoshimitsuAn ancient armored warrior trained in Advanced Manji Ninja Arts who loves to play arcade games in Kyoto, Japan. A benevolent "Robin Hood" type bandit, Yoshimitsu takes from the rich and gives to the poor. He is a close friend of Dr. Boskonovich (who was responsible for his full-scale cyborgisation later on) and was targeted during Tekken 3 by Bryan Fury. His chief rival is Kunimitsu. He lost his arms after Tekken 1 in a shout-out. He enters Tekken 2 in order to save Boskonovich who is kidnapped by the Mishima Zaibatsu. Yoshimitsu enters Tekken 5 to take revenge on Brian who had betrayed him. Note: Soul Calibur Yoshimitsu and Tekken Yoshi is not the same person. Soul Calibur takes place in the 16 century and Tekken is set about 50 years in the future.
Bryan FuryKickboxer who was Lei WuLong's rival. After his death due to a failed attempt at crossing two gangs at once, Bryan was reanimated by Dr. Abel as a cyborg with the mission of targeting Yoshimitsu and Dr. Boskonovich, Abel's rival. Bryan still has a grudge against Lei. In Tekken 4 his body is near destruction, but Abel has abandoned him and is working for the Mishima Zaibatsu. Bryan knows the end of his life is near, so he must defeat Heihachi. After the tournament he confronts Abel, knocks him down and at the same time, falls to the ground, unconscious but is saved by Yoshimitsu and brought to Dr, Bosconovitch, who says the key to defeating Abel's bio-weapon is contained within his body. Bryan is to get a new body but due to the abrupt death of Heihachi. Someone announces Tekken 5 just months after Tekken 4. Bryan's new body is not finished but Bosconovitch has given him a new battery. -- excellent he says, and pushes Dr. B. aside and Yoshimitsu's fellow ninjas try to stop him, but in vain. When Yoshimitsu hears this, he is infuriated and decides to enter Tekken 5.
Lee Chaolan/Violet
Lee Chaolan
Kazuya's foster brother who was expelled from the Zaibatsu when Heihachi regained control due to siding with Kazuya in Tekken 2. As of Tekken 4, he is the head of a successful robotics company and built Combot. Supposedly had romantic connections to Anna Williams until she chose to put herself in cold sleep along with her sister. Fixated to some degree on money and power, both of which he lacked as an orphaned child.
Violet
In Tekken 4, Lee dyed his hair purple and wore dark glasses to hide his identity, especially from Heihachi, calling himself Violet. He studied with Marshall Law and was possibly Steve Fox's father.
KingA famous wrestler from Mexico. There are actually two Kings in the series, both of whom wore a big jaguar mask in matches. The first was a Catholic priest who participated in both pro-wrestling and martial arts tournaments to win money for his orphanage. He also taught his fighting skills to the children under his care as a means of self-defense. One of them, a young man, took up both the mantle and the mask shortly after the first King was killed by Ogre, and went on to participate in Tekken 3. Now 27, he received further training from Armor King, only to become furious when Craig Marduk killed AK in a bar brawl. Upon Marduk's release, King the Second sent a letter challenging him to the tournament in Tekken 4. King defeated Marduk easily in Tekken 4, but the psychotic gorilla-looking Vale-tudo fighter won't give up. He wants revenge in Tekken 5.
Michelle ChangAn Asian female from Arizona and step mother of Julia Chang. In Tekken 2, she had an amulet which allegedly could control and subdue great powers and spirits and was coveted by Kazuya; who was, however, unsuccessful at taking it away from her. At the conclusion of Tekken 2 she threw her amulet to the bottom of a lake, probably never to be found again. She studied under Wang Jin-Rei.
Julia ChangSkilled in Chinese Martial Arts based on Shinrokugo-Ken, and is Michelle's step daughter. Julia was adopted in her infancy and never knew her real parents. In Tekken 3, Heihachi Mishima kidnapped Michelle in order to force Julia to give up a family heirloom he coveted, but was unsuccessful. Julia returns in Tekken 4 as an expert environmentalist, seeking ways to save her homeland from deforestation.
JackA gigantic Russian robot. Jack saved a girl named Jane from the horrors of war and she became something between his friend and maintainer. Typical of robots, he was little more than a tool, but the chaos of war acted as a trigger for him to erratically develop human emotion.
Armor KingKing's mentor and companion. Part of a Mexican tribe who carries around the Jaguar masks that both King and Armor King wear. He was once the enemy of King 1, but eventually they became very close friends.Though unfortunately inbetween the 3 and 4 tournament Craig Marduck started a fight in a bar and Armor King was killed.
Ling XiaoyuUses Chinese Martial Arts based on Hakke-Sho and Hika-Ken. Trained martial arts under Wang Jin-Rei. Enters the Tekken 3 contest to win a large enough fortune to build an amusement park and apparently has a crush on Jin. She enters the Tekken 4 contest to search for Jin.
Eddy GordoTrained in the Brazilian fighting style, Capoeira. His father was very influential but was killed by the mafia, and Eddy decided to go into prison where he would be safe from the mafia. In prison he befriends a grandmaster of Capoeira who would teach him everything about the art. His ending in Tekken 3 seems to suggest that Kazuya had something to do with the death of his father. Just before Tekken 3 he finds Christie Montiero, the granddaughter of his mentor, and trains her in Capoeira.
Tiger JacksonA guy stuck in the 70's. Big afro hair and practises Capoeira.
Jun KazamaJin's mother, uses Kazama Style Classic Martial Arts. The embodiment of purity and niceness. Also allegedly psychic. She dies by Ogre's hands in Tekken 3.
Baek Doo-SanA Tae Kwon Do Fighter and Hwoarang's mentor. He was killed by the Ogre after Tekken 2.
GanryuA Sumo Wrestler who was a bodyguard to Kazuya during Tekken 2 and has a crush on Michelle Chang. Missed Tekken 3.
DevilKazuya offered his soul to the devil and in Tekken 4 Devil is in control over Kazuya. Jin, being Kazuya's son, also has the "devil gene"; the essence of evil that has contaminated Kazuya in return for the power to overthrow Heihachi. Heihachi discovers this in Tekken 4 and tries to entice him to enter the contest.
AngelVies with Devil over Kazuya's soul. Angel represents Kazuya's good part.
Mokujin/Tetsujin
Mokujin
A wooden combat training doll awakened by the Ogre. Its fighting style is mimicry (it alternates between sets of moves used by the other fighters).
Tetsujin
Tetsujin is the exact same except he is made of iron rather than wood. Tetsujin means Ironman, Mokujin means Man of wooden blocks
Alex/Roger
Alex
Alex is a genetically-created raptor made by Dr. Boskonovich Dr. Boskonovich intended to help the various people attempting to thwart Devil-Kazuya.
Roger
Roger is a kangaroo made by Dr. Boskonovich made for the same purpose as Alex.
PandaLing Xiaoyu's loyal pet. Fights using bear martial arts.
KumaHeihachi's pet. Likes watching TV and considers Paul a rival, though does not have much of a record against him. He studies advanced bear fighting. The first Kuma died of old age. It is Kuma's child who enters Tekken 3.
KunimitsuFemale ancient armored warrior. Yoshimitsu's rival who would rather have the ninja clan steal for itself rather than the poor.
Bruce IrvinKickboxer. Was Lei Wulong's partner in the police force and good friend until the Mishima Zaibatsu sabotaged his plane. Bruce somehow survived but lost his memory. He was collected by Kazuya and made his bodyguard, then brainwashed to believe Lei was his enemy and was responsible for him crashing.
"Jack-2"Another robot of the Jack series. Upgraded from Jack (1)
Wang Jin-ReiOld man who trained with Heihachi's father, Jinpachi. He passed on his fighting style to Michelle Chang.
Ogre/True Ogre
Ogre
Final Boss in Tekken 3. Infused with mythical powers and absorbs fighters' souls. In the Japanese version Ogre is called Toshin.
True Ogre
True Ogre, who appears after Ogre is defeated in Tekken 3, is the perfect form of Ogre.
Prototype JackSelf-explanatory. Not the first Jack, only a Prototype.
Craig MardukKilled Armor King in a bar-fight. A psychotic gorilla-looking wrestler.
GonTiny dinosaur based on a Japanese comic series.
Dr. BoskonovichCompanion of Yoshimitsu and uses unique ground fighting techniques since he suffers from a rare disease that affects the spine. His daughter is also sick and he started the "cold sleep" project for the purpose of freezing her until he could find a cure. Also responsible for the creation of Alex and Roger. Rival of Dr Abel. The only man in the world who knows the truth about Ogre. After Tekken 4 Yoshimitsu saves Bryan and is given a new body, but due to that Tekken 5 is announced just months after Tekken 4, the new body isn't complete. Bryan is given a new battery. He says Excellent and then he pushes aside Dr. B. and he kills some of Yoshi's fellow Manjis who tried to stop him.
Steve FoxA famous boxer who was adopted as a child. Was coerced by the British mafia to throw a fight and has been hunted ever since for not complying. The latest assassin sent after him is Nina Williams, his biological mother. Though never made explicit, it is believed Lee Chaolan is his father. This is evidenced by the fact that he shares a similar hairstyle (albeit blond) and eyebrow shape. Before the release of Tekken 4 Namco originally intended Steve to be called "Dean Earwicker".
Christie MonteiroAppears in Tekken 4. Her grandfather was the man who taught Eddy Gordo in prison. She trains in Capoeira under Eddy after they discovery their common link. After Eddy disappears on the search for his father's killer she enters the Tekken 4 tournament in the hope that Eddy will make an appearance.
UnknownTortured soul enslaved by a wolf spirit. Only appears in Tekken Tag Tournament, and not much is known about her (Tekken Tag Tournament is not a part of the storyline so Unknown will probably not be in Tekken 5 or any other Tekken game). The most common speculation is that she is actually a transmogrified Jun Kazama.
RavenA special agent who reports that Heihachi is dead and enters Tekken 5 in order to find out who is holding the tournament. Looks like Blade Blade (1998) is a vampire movie adapted from a comic book. It stars Wesley Snipes (as Blade) and Kris Kristofferson (as Abraham Whistler). It was directed by Stephen Norrington. Snipes plays the character of Blade, a half-man, half-vampire who becomes the protector of humans against the vampires. It spawned a sequel, Blade II released in 2002. Another sequel, , will be released in December 2004.
..... Click the link for more information. and has an X-scar on his face. Knows Ninjitsu and is similar to Kunimitsu.
Feng-WeiA Kung-Fu master who enters Tekken 5 to prove he is the best. He even killed his own Master.
Asuka KazamaThe cousin of Jin Kazama. Her father was badly beaten by a chinese martial artist. She contacts Lei and enters T5 to take revenge.
Jack-5Gun-Jack was gunned down some time after Tekken 3 in order to protect Jane. Jane now works for the G-Corporation and starts working on the Jack-4 unit. After Jack-4 is completed she starts working on Jack-5 who will be the ultimate machine. preview not available. Click the link for more information.

excellent post on a most excellent game.
they really shouldn't bother trying to explain characters like mokojin, roger and kuma. It just trivializes the whole thing and makes a mockery of the storyline.
Just leave them as "bonus character thrown in for good measure"
I know it's a bit much to ask, but including pics of the characters would make this even sweeter. Wish I had the time to do it myself. mcmcmc

If that's the case, consider this locked.
If it was your own insight, fine, but blatant plaguarism of somebody else's work?
No, no and NO.
At least give credit where credit is due, or even a link, to save us the trouble of reading all of that.
