there are alot of linux programs that either emulate windows, have a windows like interface etc....... but:

 the windows emulator needs a FAAAST processor to work without lag.
 the windows interface is just an interface and nothing more

i sure all of you using some windows based program right now that you would not have without Bill Gates, the only reason any of these new programs are any good is because they re either based or in some way inspired by something from microsoft.

I always laugh at the Microsoft-haters...I mean, what's the point? What did Microsoft/Bill Gates do to you, personally, to make you hate them? What, cos they're infinitely more successful than most of us ever will be? Or because someone else said that it's cool to hate Bill Gates and Microsoft? Actually Linux is the source of great creativity programs wise, so to say its prolly a ripoff is a blow in to NUTS to those open source ppl out there who have genuine ideas and programs. I am agaisnt MS pricing as its a bit too much IMO anyways. Sure they have great programs that everyone uses but I was originally a MAC person so I can also say MS stole Apples Idea in the first place and go on and on and rave about u have APPLE to thank for MS being where it is which to some extent is true. Let me tell u the truth. If Apple had opened up its system to developers we'd all have an Apple machine and be arguing how Apple and not MS is the evil doer.

I say MS deserves its cudos just as Linux deserves its as well and or course Apple. They all had some part to play in where we are today. ONe more thing, Linux would be shooting itself in the foot by raising its prices so the point about if they raised their price is DUMB. They can't afford, PLUS as I JUST read an article both AMD and Intel are trying their best to make 100USD computers for 3 world countries. Now consider they are looking at Linux as the OS of choice to keep the price down as a MS OS would be a minimum of 100USD addition, theres reenforcement to my point that Linux has and will continue to be a lower price competitor.
