Athlon 2600MP in a KT3 Ultra-ARU>Possible?

Hello all.Sisoft Sandra says my motherboard can take Athlon MP processors (1 processor).You think an Athlon MP 2600 could work in my motherboard (MSI KT3 Ultra-ARU) since it uses the 266mhz FSB and not the 333mhz of the XP model?

why u want a athlon mp just stick with the athlon xps. The slower front side bus shouldn't affect it much as long as it supports the socket and speed u should be ok

Yeah.My board is based on the KT333 chipset.It can't support 333FSB .Small ting though>Das y i was considering this MP chip.Thanks for the info.

KT333 mobos CAN support ddr333 aka 166fsb. But yes it should be able to run it okay. Best way to know is check website to see if it can. Usually flashing to latest bios can provide such support. Worst case you can mod the cpu itself to be detected as an XP.

Yeah>I find that out a couple weeks after I post this thread dat is support it but unofficialy so fellas reading this don't go slapping 3000's in ur KT333 without researching.My board in particular supported it unoffcially.I tried a XP 3000+ with latest BIOS and PC2700 RAM and it worked! But i have other plans for my stuff now.Thanks though.
