make sure yuh know what modchip they using, if they can flash yuh BIOS, install Evolution X or Avalache, HDD upgrades and find out about dual booting. . THat way you can switch off your modchip when you want just like the PS2 incase you want to go LIVE. All dat and much much more sitting down in my XBOX and ah tell yuh you REALLY unleash the consoles potential.

I know there's a little switch you can put on the side that takes the modchip on and off

no not a switch. Hold down the power it boots into EVO-X, press it normally you boot into the XBOX dash.

well rename createw a back up of the original with is like 50mb and u can restore it whenever u want ..set the evox dash as the default and rename the original another name

If you can get into EVO-X from the original XBOX dash through FTP and rename the .xbe file like you say then you havent disabled your modchip as yet meaning you cant get on LIVE.

Have you used the tunnel dread? The lag is horrible. Plus there is no voicing on xbconnect and gamespy. I only use that for HALO, other multiplayer tunnel links are pointless.
LIVE has a MUCH better connection with much better and more dedicated servers.
