Anybody out there know about Mugen?

I was surfing the net earlier today when I came across this thing called Mugen. it was supposed to be a 2-d fighting game engine that allowed you to create your own fighters, backgrounds, moves, anything.
I downloaded the file and it works, but I have no idea how to create my own characters or anything like that.
Is there anybody out there familiar with Mugen and could give me a hand?

P.S.: The Elecbyte site the other Mugen sites constantly mention doesn't register on my PC. When I did find the site, none of the links seem to work. Just letting you guys know that in advance.

yeah mugen out for a good good long itme now, i member back on d ole forums das all me and my FIA bretheren was talking about.......i have no clue as to how to create my own character though, tha would be pretty difficult though
if yuh would like, we could organise and i could lend you the one that i have created, it has to be one of the best ive seen so far

But what I'm really looking for is some basic instructions on how to run this thing and create my own characters, too...think you can help me?

yeah mugen out long long long time indeed. years now!

i had real characters an thing yes

but after they went linux and brought out versions where my characters were not compatible and thing i kinda back away from mugen. ohh well!!

mugen is like one ah dem game dat no body know bout, but it so damn bad that d whole world should know bout it.ah mean, yuh could dongload characters from practicaly any game!!!even barney (beat some purple t-rex).

if you really want to know about Mugen, talk to ShinIori.  He rel sick wit it.  Don't know if he'd help u out though.

I used to be real into the mugen scene until ppl start creating some damn unreal characters.
