Lvl 60 paladin on Dalvegyr. Was pally class leader. Was in Tempest before i left the guild. Finished MC, ZG, AQ20, BWL and reached second boss in AQ40 and trash mobs in Naxx. Stopped raiding because i couldnt keep up with the daily 6 hour raid times. Im straight PvP now with the pally.

Lvl 25 Undead Rogue on Lightnings Blade. Dunno what im gonna do with that char.

two level 20 Mage and Priest (alliance) on Dalvengyr as well.

Just started an Undead mage on Kel'thas server. My first PvE or Normal server. I much prefer PvP servers. Some friends on this server and they raid like once a week so i may do that. Depending. Otherwise i may go Hardcore.

Lightnings blade has an incredible Horde population that totally owns in Raid and pvp. On the other hand Dalvengyr rapes the Horde on a daily basis, they cant pvp or raid or do anything to save their life, totally disorganized.

Im not partial to either. Dont care, play both sides, down to the friggin Blizzard gear that selling on JINX.com with horde and alliance clothes.

Will be either leveling the undead mage for raid and possibly the ally priest or mage for PvP on Dalvengyr. Raids are appearing to be pointless with the expansion and the kinda gear that drops, which is sad. I used to love raids. My entire final presentation for my "Instructional design Theory class" was on how to prep your character for endgame RAID in WoW (those that know what i do would understand).

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS GAME!!

WoW is nothing but trouble. I played WoW from July 2005 to September 2006. It is an excellent game, but quite frankly if you have any sort of competitive drive it will totally eat you up. It will destroy your urge to do anything but play. I put a total of 81 days into WoW over that period. EIGHTY ONE DAYS into one game!

Just in case anyone might have played on a same server as me, my characters:
Character - Level - Class - Server
Blackhorn - 60 - Shaman - Moonrunner
Galen - 33 - Mage - Azshara
Eonwe - 60 - Rogue - Draka
Durin - 60 - Priest - Duskwood

I have a bunch of other lowbies (20s-30s), I only mentioned Galen to make clear that I played on Azshara.
I did endgame with my final toon (Durin). Did all of ZG, AQ20, MC, BWL, AQ40 and 5 Naxx bosses by the start of September when I cancelled my account after my guild fell apart.
Personally I recommend that everyone stay far FAR away from this game unless you're content being mediocre in the grand scheme of things on your server.

I've done it all, pvped with Blackhorn, played basically a casual run on Eonwe and then the mentioned endgame with Durin. I've managed progression threads on server forums, I've been a notorious troll on three different server forums. WoW was a great ride, but the destruction it causes is enough for me to never play another MMORPG ever again. My old guild is planning to reform in Vanguard and as much as I love those guys, I'm not taking that chance.

I know what you mean Exar. And you are very right.
If you are willing to raid in engame for WoW be prepared to put aside lots of time....and i mean like 6-8 hours per raid kinda time....straight.
I left Tempest because i couldnt keep up with their Raid times and, like most guilds, you needed an 80 percent attendance record to stay in. The guild fell apart not too long after. When you have about 10 members from a server all in Tier 3 and Naxx gear transfer to a new one like Dalvengyr with the intention of building a guild things go wrong.

Some great guilds on the server that went to hell

Echoes of Elysium - best guild on the server till the GM stole the bank and sold it (LOL)
Lion War
Tempest - fastest moving guild on the server
HxC
Golden Parachute

There were spinnoffs and reforms but they didnt last long.

Biggest problem being that you meet up with people who think differently. Many....MANY of these Americans dont know the dedication it takes to raid. 7pm server time on satruday its prime time raiding. You stockup on snacks and drinks for the night because when you walk into BWL or AQ40 you not comming out till 12 midnight or later, depending.
you have to deal with little 14 year olds who piss and groan and gripe bout everything, talk like they eat parrot bottom on Vent till the RL mutes their @ss. You have some times when you are ready to raid and then wtf...no priests. Everyone has something to say and no one listens....la la la....happens all the time.

Its best to try to get into established guilds. EoE or Echoes of Elysium was the best guild on our server...reach Sephiron and called it quits after hearing about Burning Crusade. One of the guys in my class is actualy priest class leader in the guild and explained it doesnt make sense right now after what they are hearing about BC.

As far as Vanguard goes. Well there is lots of talk about it. This same guy got to beta test it and hates the game. He used to MMO with Everquest come up, he loves those games. So if he said it sucks, i guess he could very well be right.

He sold Dro, his 60 priest for 750 US on EbBay in 2 days. Bought a 360 and is chilling till BC comes out.

NOW DONT GET ME WRONG. Exar can aggree with me. Raiding is the most fun you will ever have, in any game you may ever play.....EVER..not kidding. And the feeling of successfully downing Rag, Nef, Haakar, C'thun and Osirion for the first time with 39 other members is something you have to witness for yourself. The felling is fantastic.

However.....when you see the guild is playing crap. And no one is feeling to raid or concentrating, you are wiping on trash mobs and classes are not doing their job, its the most frustrating feeling in the world. Really.

Its a tossup. Fantastic game though.

hmm, sounds like those inexperienced wow men needed some time with lineage before playing wow.

used to have tons of fun in lineage raiding and castle seiging way before wow had it, so its nothing new to me and probably most lineage players

dwarvies yes, lol. Most of the lineage players i know, if not all, are off are almost completly off of retail lineage now and play only on private servers, we pvp like crazzyyy on those servers lol lol, experience is a hell of a teacher.

Think we are waiting for L3 before we go back retail, get that jump when it launches and just run tings

well, 40 v 40 would be small in lineage terms :(

is more like 2 or 3 alliances seiging and maybe 3 alliances defending (an alliance is made up of 2 or more clans) a castle so the figure will top out at closer to 300 people in a seige.

That is massssss pvp and pvp with an objective!!! kill, take thrown, hold thrown
kil kil kil

lol, and there are usually at least 3 castles being seiged per seige. So after one castle is successfully defended or taken, an alliance will then usually move on to the next castle. lol, its fast paced, frenetic but definately purpose driven.

If that many people enter the same zone in WoW the server will crash. It's been done before.

When Warriors were pissed about their class they had a warrior protest. They all rolled warriors on a server and crashed it.
And anyone that did the event where Ahn'Qiraj opens knows the kind of crap that happens when multiple raid groups are at the gate.
