On sharing anime
Simply put: we do not want the trading of anime where there is no permission to redistribute online on these forums. Posts that ask for copyrighted anime will simply disappear without explanation.

Lending anime (as you would a book) is fine. It's the "copying one for a partner" that the rule is meant to dissuade.
Just lend the anime out by PMs. Lend, not "lend".
It's just that we have the occasional joker who comes on the forum and wants to ask for software serial numbers, or ask for someone to burn DVDs, or some such.
I know that the laws on copyright suck, especially in recent years. I know it's stupid.
But unfortunately, once the civil authorities do not see it as a stupid law (we can lobby them to change it, but they like to listen to foreigners rather than their own people), we have to abide by the laws of T&T.
Hence the rule against it. We aren't doing it to be ogres. We just want the forums to keep running and if they become havens for illegal stuff, GATT could be held liable for the stuff posted here.
Just to add, in running a forum like this one, the managers of the forum usually have two options:
* no moderation, which tends to descend to Stormfront and F**ked Company type of discourse (racial and ethnic slurs, flamewars, personal insults, etc) , or
* moderation, with "better" types of discussion. With moderation comes the responsibility for the stuff on the forum since it carries your name.
