Official Rules
**********
For this tourney we have adopted the general rules and guidelines set by the Cyberathlete Amateur League, with one major difference. No item nor control sharing as it would be too difficult to monitor abuse. Most general gameplay rules remain the same as set out by TDA but in far greater detail. Please read and familiarize yourself with them. Any infraction against these set rules can, and will most likley result in team disqualification.
These rules and guidelines are subject to change
Officials and Officiating
There will be one Official appointed to oversee each match. If there is an officiating decision to be made, it will be made by the official. All decisions are FINAL.
Personal Hardware (Mouse/Keyboard)
Personal hardware use is allowed, but limited to mice, keyboards, and headphones. All personal hardware used is subject to approval by the tournament official.
Cheating
There will be no tolerance of cheating. If a player is found cheating, the entire team will be immediately disqualified. Cheating is defined as anything that contradicts any of the rules and guidelines stated below, as well as any other forms of cheating as defined by the official.
Exploiting
The exploitation of bugs will not be tolerated. If a player is found exploiting during the tournament, they will be given 1 verbal warning. The 2nd offense will result in team disqualification.
Game Chat
Only team captains may talk using *All Chat* during a game.
Hero Selection
The hero selection order will be determined by a coin toss. The winner chooses side (Sentinel or Scourge) The loser chooses the first hero, and then the winner and so on and so forth until all heroes are chosen.
Game Mode
Game mode will be default (Sentinel Vs Scourge with Power Ups)
Game Version
Tournament will utilize version 6.32b for game play. However, if there any new stable releases before the tournament, the newer version may be utilized for tournament play.
In-Game Player Names
All players on a given team must clearly tag their game handles with a team tag. Ex. [PWN]-NoobGoneWild, [PWN]-DohGetMeVex. No obscene handles will be allowed. Any handle deemed “obscene” or “inappopriate” must be changed at the request of an official.
Pooling
Pooling of any kind is not allowed. Pooling is defined as purchasing items for use or sale by another player.
Sharing
No sharing of any items are allowed.
Sharing Control
No sharing of control is allowed.
Disconnect:
If a disconnect should occur within 10 minutes the game will be restarted. After 10 minutes, the game will continue.
Should a player disconnect, his hero can either A) be used with all items in tact or
have all items sold off of him so that the gold will be shared equally with the remaining team members.
Team Killing
Team killing is allowed, under the condition that the teammate is doomed or poisoned, the ability to kill your teammates is allowed for game play purposes. It is an advanced part of the game and will not be restricted.
Backdooring/Throne or Tree Killing
Backdooring in games is allowed. However, instances of teleport abuse are not allowed. You cannot use any form of teleport (furion skill, ignis fatuus, or Boots of Travel) to enter an enemy base UNLESS your creeps are already present in the base. So, for example, teleporting with Boots of Travel onto an ignis fatuus that runs in to backdoor is illegal. Another example is having your teamates backdoor and enter an enemy base and then teleport to your teamates as Furion. This is illegal because your creep wave is not present.
No Creep Blocking/Pulling
Blocking is defined as purposefully blocking your own creeps in the lane, allowing them to amass for a massive push.
Pulling is defined as attacking the enemy creeps and then leading them off the lane to allow your own creeps a clear path to the enemy's tower.
Pulling creeps inadvertently off the path in an attempt to kill an enemy hero will not be punishable.
