I hosted one before.
It was no easy task.
The general upkeep of the server is also pretty troublesome and involved. Client crashes are frequent.
Have you made any progress?
Where exactly are you stuck?

hmmm... I have been hosting a server on 256k/64k dsl for some time now. My only problem is bandwidth.
Can I post my server info here?

it is a bit of a grey area but go ahead.
I am curious to see how well it works under such a tight bandwidth situation.

a few spells dont work, not all quests are complete. if u on dialup, u will lag p2p (player to player) server lag not really noticable. If i get access to dedicated server in T&T that would be awesome, but of course i have no idea where i can get that kind of a solution or how much it gonna cost.
There are quite a few bugz, but i wouldnt say that it's that much to spoil the experience. Low population can make a player get lonely fast. The server is run on an opteron 3GHz CPU with dual channel XP 4000 2-2-2-6(1T) mushkin memory. Bandwidth is the only performance issue.

it's not too bad, once men not on with high pings (read, from COSTAATT's computer labs) to lag the server
but I wish he had a list of the known issues on the wow page, so it'd save me buying into a skill ( or taking a quest ) that's busted

actually, i not aware of most of the bugz.... Just the ones that u guys report to bleach are the ones i try to fix. (requires programming in .net so it takes a while depending on my schedule) I usually change the welcome message when i fix something.
