it has be dispute and proven by that same hacker that the game was incomplete to begin with and that half life 2 was atleast 5months away from completion. what we have is a case where sierra/vivendi just found the scape goat that solved all their problems. hell we have had a beta demo for doom3 for more than a year now and we still have no doom 3 so whats that going to say about half life 2 which start around the same time.

anyway i had resigned myself to a summer 2004 hl2 and doom3 release
