As kakashi said a long time ago, there are children in the world with much more power than him (even at jounin level). Gaara and Naruto are egs of that. To put things in perspective, the four ninjas of the sound (ones who made the barrier aroudn teh 3rd and Orochomaru) put down two jounins big time (correct me I could be wrong they could have been chunins) and the genins.... aka Chouji, Neji, etc put them down for the count. Granted we are talking about level 2 seals and geniuses fighting but still, I am certain gaara could put down both Kakashi and gai (simultaneously btw) with his present level of power (note not skill). Skill may determine their rank, but it seems that anyone at any level under the right circumstances or with enough raw power can beat another of a higher level. In case you aren't sure what I am reffering to, read the manga you'll see what i mean. Gaara put down the worse of the sound ninjas at level 2 seal!!!! But umm Lee is still meh boy wait till we see his entrance on de scene SPLOI

under all serousness Roc Lee is truly a boss and then is Naruto because of his ingenuity in dealing with all sorts of situation and his determination to prevail.

Rock Lee
Neji
Naruto
these are at least at below STANDARD uber powerful level....

At the higher end of the spectrum I like:
Ero Senin himself, Jaraiya
Itachi

Ehem stop biggin up Gaara nah he is a rapist that i respect but calm ppl, he truly is a noob & only have raw power no skill at all & truly if Gaara nemon(shukaku of the sand) was to fight the nine tails it would get it ass wash, it was only a tie because of the five elemental seal preventing naruto from calling upon the power of the nine tails to help him...and gaara still get he ass wash equal so if he did it wwould have been death for gaara

......here are my favourites...

(1) Orichimaru(i know it have people who dont like the man and thing but you have to admit this man is POWERFUL; check that man eyes, REAL BAD!!! i find the anime does make evil look more dread than good sometimes......)

(2) Jiraiya( he on the same level as Orichimaru(i think) but to have the 4th as you apprentice!! that is dread) dont mind he is a ero-sannin,he still dread....)

(3) Itachi( the man wipe out he own clan to get ONE of the THREE legendary sharigan(mangikyoue sharigan) that does take real belly, real determination to do that....this man became a ANBU commander at 13 years!!!!! you just have to BIG UP this man!!!...right now i think the only reason he in Akatsuki is because when the time right and he have enough power, he will wipe out them too and learn all their jutsus and thus become more powerful;they only reason he aint acting now is because the group helping him reach he GOAL;to get POWER..the sharigan never fails,it is the bloodline limit to have!!!!..)

Note: If the five elemental seal is released naruto will not be able to controll the kyubi so saying that it holds him back I think is a BS. If not for that seal he would have been consumed and kyubi released. As bad as I honestly think naruto is, gaara would hand him his @$$ now, at least until naruto learns to tap into more power from kyubi. Even with chakra that emulates the fox's form, I think gaara would beat him right now. But hey it could be a really good rematch.

Again i think we must remember that someones rank is very important in the show and even though he did a B rank there is a reason why he eh movin up the ladder. In time he will be a great and very feared ninja. A sannin of his time lol.
