*YAWN* anime city get soft in my eyes d 1st was one was real bad 1st of its kind but evolution of it sucked. I want to see some serious connects. If they could boot piracy and maybe link with some actual names in japan to make it a serious scene but that would make them have to seek profit so say what. I would really like to see a anime theatre instead (as in year long) and this event more about tourneys for cash for who have d biggest anime collection ,best fan art, Anime I.Q. just SOMETHING to make me want to waste money to go as opposed to dlin it

sounds interesting...the whole anime iq thingy...it's really true that anime city has lost it's original touch...but when you think of some of the reasons why...then you'd realise that anime city is only as good as the people who go to it....i mean come on...if you didn't realise that a majority of people who came to the first one were purely kenshin fans alone then you realy aren't taking in the serious lack of true otaku in this country...many people cam...watched kenshin then left...nothing else..it realy shows that with poor turn out then it only makes the atmosphere just as poor..it's up to the true otaku to bring life to the one convention that brings the joy of anime to a wide spread scale...so think about why anime city is getting shitty and you'll see that it's the lack of fan interaction...think about it

There's more to it than that u know...

Having been to almost every AC (the exception being 7.5), the initial ACs were quite good, the anime was more than enough to keep you watching...*remembers when they were first showing Perfect Blue and Blood and Ninja Resurrection

Now, it's more feeling like 'same old same old', and they are showing more series episodes than anything else, and I'm sorry, but if i want to sit down and watch episodes, I'll want to see it in one go!

Also, the initial fanboys of RK also drove away some otaku that initially turned out...*Touya anyone?

*. I guess it was a case of supporting the otaku, or getting more ppl to come...

And also, to be frank, the yu-gi-oh tourneys kinda distracted from the anime itself

. I remember in AC5, i was in the lobby for almost the entire day, and couldn't get to watch any anime, because I always had to be looking out for when was my match due....

I honestly think they should really focus their energies on 1 event per year, but make that event go all out...

Remember the suggestions about the artist workshops, the seminars for people from the industry itself from Japan??? What happened to that?

I really don't know...

Shenju if i'm not mistaken you're not to far from a bleached whale yourself. In short keep your over the top assness to a minimum. Your post was deleted.

As far as AC goes I still don't think Hafeez got the license for Naruto. The series is still unlicensed , so i'm guessing it's still Hong Kong DVDs. I could be wrong though, I have seen some original looking jap dvds floating around.
