I not sure if this post up but if its plz tell me.
The budget for the year2004/2005 is a pack of nonsense and
yet if you can calculate the difference between importing and local
items you'll notice u spend around the same amount of money
u spend every month! *stueps  [_[

Am I right?

THE BUDGET THIS YEAR CATERS FOR THE LOWER INCOME GROUPS(THEY SUPPOSEDLY DRINK MAUBY AND COCOA).LOWERING THE TARRIF ON IMPORTED CHICKEN AND TURKEY(WHO EATS TURKEY?) WILL ONLY HELP IN THE SHORT RUN. PRICES WILL GO UP. THE GOV'T SHOULD HAVE GONE TO THE SOURCE OF THE PROBLEM; HIGH CHICKEN FEED PRICES AND A MONOPOLY OF SUPPLIERS, BY PROMOTING LOCAL FARMERS OR PRICES OF CORN&FEED. BY THE WAY HOW DO I JOIN A CLAN? AND DO U ALL WANT TO COME MY TOURNAMENT? :D
SO GUESS WHAT. THE BUDGET AFFECTS U, U TWIT!

I eat turkey... turkey is good.....

the budget is just a rehash of all the others, dropping prices on a few items won't help .   Remember the government preaching transparency? Why is it that we still have no clue HOW those ministers qualify for their positions, and that they make decisions without parlimentary approval?  How come CARLOS JOHN's house gets raided and not Patrick mannings????

dat is tru coldstorm...dey should have some kinda constitutional basis on which dese ministers are chosen other than age,how on earth can u reshuffle cabinet all willie nillie like dat, dat doh make sense even self u wanna keep the electroal MPs as cabinet members let us know if it have somebody runnin de show who more capable.
de budget does affect us u know we just wouldnt see it right away of course. budgets usually take years to take general effect.tings like raisin d wage limit and pension by a lil bit is good because changes like dat have to be gradual or else we go end up like argentina

alyu mad orwa u have to raise d minimum wage by a little because if u do it by alot at one time dat will cause an imbalance]]]it go lead to it havin in a sense no low income group and den u go see d price of all de necessities rise to suit and den is not only de lower income who go start to feel it it go be d whole general econmy]]]den u gos ee ppl start to raise de wage payments and den when dat happen is higher income group who go be better off because their increases tend to be the largest]].soon money go be worth nuttin like in argentin ah tell yu ...dem was payin allkinda 2000 for a 3.10 loaf and ting
Real $hit cud happen

i aint sayin manning move like a boss i sayin dey hadda be careful up dere

simple solution... increase the tax brackets on the upper end of the economy, not business tax cause they will use that as an excuse to increase product costs again, and utilize the industries properly. we have asphalt, and shitty roads, we have telecommunications that takes almost a year to get a land line. decrease the ministers salaries and HAVE QUATERLY OR BIANNUAL audits on ministers expenditures etc, just to name a few

Look it eh as simple as you guys yapping dread. as wesleigh
say its all about a balance. there are 2 trains of thoughts. tax the upper bracket and free up the lower which in turns generates more gov't income as well as frees up the lower bracket. yet with this train come a cargo cart. that is to say taxing the rich means they spend less and invest less which hurts business and the overall economy. so most governments tax the middle & lower classes and some of the upper. its sounds heartless but it works efficiently.

taxing or restricting business adversely harms the economy so for everyone to survive overall the rich must stay rich. its a harsh reality. doing things like raising wages and COLA and reducing taxes on lower incomes not only reduces gov't income but raises business cost which either lead to unemployment or a raise in the cost of consumer goods. its just simple business.

yet as ppl we dont care about economics, businesses or figures we want tangibles. its sad how a couple of paved roads and some new schools are the measurement of fiscal success. concidering that in some carribean countries things we consider normal are often luxuries. we are a nation who can afford $1500 shoes and clothing. where kids can spend $100 on a yugi-oh cards. where computers and internet are no longer luxuries but normal. houses being built all over the place and they getting filled.

i eh saying that some ppl eh suffering day to day and others just living hand to mouth. yet you have to realise how well off trinidad is economically.

trinidad had a 4.5% real gdp growth as at 1/1/2004. thats 65th largest in the world. that makes our gdp $10.6 billion us. more than any other caribbean country.
trinidad has a $9,600 gdp per capita (ie the average income per person )
21% of trinidadians are below the poverty line. compared that  to USA which is 12% or UK 17%.
we have a 10.7% unemployment rate which is the lowest in the caribbean.

so be glad yuh get a good news budget whether or not it politically motivated. id love to see next year figures cause with the oil boost it should go up even more.
If I enjoy eating chicken does that make me a stereotype
