I'd say hold off for the new consoles. If you don't want the new console, surely prices on legacy systems will drop a bit at that point. As for buying the system for Fable...man...that game didn't even get good reviews....something about the "non linear" game being too linear.

I don't think there's anything wrong with buying an xbox now - I just bought mine @ amazon.ca

they're still selling the holiday bundle (+ amped 2 & top spin) for a mere 220 can$ - I'd say that's a pretty
good deal.

Once you're through with xbox gaming, you slap evox on the hd and use it as a mediaserver -
can't get a pc for that price.

true boy StarCon. A moded XBOX is a wonderful media system. All your anime, all your divX, MP3, WMA, MOV you name it, it can play it. Ems and apps and skins for everything.

xbox rocks... especially when its modified.. and has a 200gb hdd in it loaded with games... plenty of QUALITY games on the box.. may not have a guuzillion games like the ps2 but the XBOX has some good games.. FABLE , ENCLAVE , NINJA GAIDEN , HALO , HALO 2 , KOTOR 1 AND 2 ... and the list goes on and on.. basically if u gonna buy a console now better u buy the xbox.... xbox2 might not hit the market till dec 2k5 and who nows how long before it becomes main stream with readily available games..

people fail to realize that also ALMOST every cross platform game is better on the XBOX (minus SPY HUNTER - who cares anyway and NEED FOR SPEED HP 2)

xbox xbox xbox rocks!!!!!!! ...cause of the xbox we sold the ps2 .....xbox just better ....only thing i would want from the ps2 is the exclusive games (i know it has a good few) but overall i rather the xbox...baego that runing games off hdd real "umber"

fable didnt take weeks it took me a week Xd ahahaha and halo 2 well yeah short if u want go ahead xbox 360 out soon be warned and no it isnt backwards compatible rumour has it they are remaking the great games of xbox for xbox 360

so hold in there buy a 6600 gt or a 680 ultra instead and pray that halo 2 comes out on pc

hold out and buy a who? A what? Boy.!!!!! Is that one of them $400.00 graphics card? AN where you hear all this crap about remaking? There are going to be 35 LAUNCH titles for the 360 and i would have to say about 30 of them is new games, possibly more.

And by the time alyuh get HALO 2, XBOX go get HALO 3.

Doh buy any of these consoles just yet. Hold out for the next gen, it just around the corner.

umm lol if he hass the money he can buy a 6800 ultra but rumour was tht xbox 360 there doing remakes of the GREATEST titles for xbox to go on 360 ?? theyll have more on this comin to the console launch dont buy the xbox boy save up for 360 ..new console wars ahead ...on ign.com they had the post of the remakin of some of the greatest hits i pray is backwards compatible

Yep the MS rep told me that the system is backwards compatible with the Greatest Hits release for the current XBOX. Apparently its not just cheap for nuttin. But to be backwards compatible SO FAR (meaning this could change) you gonna have to buy the HDD version. Maybee yuh hadda d/l an app to run it on LIVE or something. Apparently there are 3 XBOX360's releasing. A regular one w/o a HDD, one with a 20Gig and then the Media version, which i doh care to get. PC could do media just fine. Of course this all subject to change.

Baego boy, they was litterally GIVING AWAY graphics cards at the Newegg.com booth outside E3. Man they call you fromt he crowd and you name ONE product that they sell. And you GET IT. NOW THAT real mad.

boy, you makin a strong statement there with regards to xbox.

I would have backed you up one year ago, but today...after seeing the power of the xbox first hand, one must beg to differ.

There is no shortage of good titles to play and the machine is decidedly faster than the PS2. Noticeably so. Load times and gameplay wise.

I won't just count them out carte blanche like that at all.

Microsoft has ENTERED this market and earned their right to be a contenter for your console dollar.

SoF 2 quickly became the staple of GATT and no game has yet replaced it.

Come like bread and butter in every GL.

Just the other night, we was hittin sensei a parang and it had tons of new games available for us to run. Latest and Greatest.
