It's running on a 5900 with the graphics at very high...including pixel shaders turned on.

It looks great, but it's a somewhat cartoony style (like WC3), so it won't appeal to everyone.

I think the Taurens are magnificent.

They're the closest thing to "good guys" in the game. They're modelled culturally on Native Americans, so they're very concerned with nature, the elements, and the associated spirituality. They're also largely focused on the hunt, and herbalism.

They're the biggest race (almost twice as tall as human males) and the strongest. However, they have access to the shaman class, which is one of the best classes in the game. It's a jack-of-all-trades class that is useful with magic (several powerful spells and "totems" that you can use in battles to aid you or buff you), healing (second best healers after priests), melee (they can enchant their weapons temporarily) and unique skills.

Shamans can also see (and sometimes have to fight) denizens of the spirit realm as they walk on the Earth...no one else can.

Taurens can become Druids as well, so that's your choice as far as magic is concerned. if yuh not into magic, you can become a hunter or a warrior.

That picture in the second post is a view of their capital from the valley below. Thunder Bluff is a beautiful city situated on 4 mesas joined by hanging bridges. You actually take a rope-drawn elevator to get to the top.



I was a Tauren shaman, and I enjoyed the experience thoroughly. Story and questing plays a huge part in WoW, unlike Lineage, so you can really get into your role. The quests give you great XP, also unlike Lineage, and if you're a shaman, you find yourselves doing some rather unique things.

is there no rogue class for tauren? iam guessing not

wouldnt be to practical to have big massive hoffing clocked cows stealthing around would it.

i dont recognise the tauren worlds at all so they must be pretty far from night elves.

ive toured the maps extensively. reached the limits of the elven worlds and even crossed over into the human towns with my rogue character.

never came across a tauren though, saw many humans, elves even dwarfs

so is there a clan or not?

Well I doh know...I get it last night, had an exam today, and have the last on Friday.

I'll create a character and get settled in tonight, but I won't really start playing till Friday evening.

I should hit lvl 15 by Monday for the latest...doh really need group support till lvl 20, which should be 2 days after.

In the meanwhile, I hoping everyone who is playing from Trinidad (not necessarily from GATT) can hook up via this thread or ingame.

Not too interested in leading a guild, but being in one is cool.



I didn't tour too much of the map because I stuck closely to my quests, but I say about 1/3 of Kalimdor...got as far as the east coast, Ogrimmar, and the NE forest on Kalimdor.



Btw...Horde all de way for me eh...I have no interest in playing Alliance for now.

I guess paying that money every month maybe a bit much, especially if you already paying money every month for lineage2. lol

then de rest of alyuh could throw de net on dem and we can drag dem back to the real world and awayyyyy form lineage.


while the beta was on, we used ventrilo and gatt mirc to coordinate some sweatage so this can be furthered for the real thing.

as much as SOME PEOPE (cough cough b cough aego cough) trying to disuade me from buying and payin monthly fee, i think i will handle a 6 month run on de game, as a christmas present to myself.

But yuh see what yuh say dey about HQ? That is a plan we've had for weeks, and it will take shape in a few days.

I passed by HQ last night and felt kinda sorry for them...we will lead them to the light.

Mengsk and I (tauren) are on Aggramar right now, with strongy (tauren) joining soon.

I can probably change from Aggramar (as can strongy, since he's yet to begin) since I'm only lvl 6...but only if alyuh established on another server.


And as I said...me, mengsk and strongy are playing HORDE (tauren, troll, orc or undead). Doh play Alliance  if you want to hook up with us...yuh know the language, geography and diplomacy issues already.

Welcome to the World of Warcraft, where you're actually rewarded for NOT playing.


When you log out of WoW at an inn or in a major city, you are given a Rest Bonus. That bonus gives you double XP (for every mob you kill) when you log back on according to how long you were logged out.

So the 20 mobs that would have given you 1000 XP in a normal state if you never logged off, will give you 2000XP in a rested state when you log back on 12 hours later.

So if you don't play for a day or two, you can get a day's worth of missed XP in half the time and effort, more or less.

Is kinda like tripping in a marathon and getting a short lift when you get back up...it helps you to stay in the levelling race (if you're the competitive type), or maintain your pace (if you're playing at one you set yourself).

Keep in mind that it's not as clear-cut as I described...the hardcore gamer will always have the advantage.

But WoW really caters to the casual 1-2 hour a day gamer.

In case anyone got/getting WoW for Christmas, the server to hook up to is Aggrammar. Medium population = low/no lag, and a decent community.

You'll also have three other TT WoWers to help you out, including me (Kayode - lvl24 Tauren shaman), Mengsk (Mengsk - lvl 22 Undead Warlock) and Strongy (Strongy - lvl11 Taureb Hunter).

Again, we're all Horde, so pick Orc, Tauren, Troll or Undead.


Game is going great btw...and the world is even more gigantic than I realised during beta. It's HUGE.

if the rouges from horde are as good then ill consider it buh i cah see those big horde characters being nice fast stealthy rouges
