I am looking to purcahse a new graphics card in the near future
i am planning to buy a geforce 6800 gt card
i was wonderin if i should go with that card or go the x-800 series?

i am also wondering bout mainstream cards
Which do u prefer 6600 or x-700

please help me out

I think you are safer with Nv1dia for the while so the 6800GT is a good bet, as for the mainstream, if you have to go there go with the X700.

Prefer nvidia anyday, because of stable linux drivers and pretty stable unified forceware releases, almost weekly. Heck the 6800gt got presicion shader 3.0 *bows*, also the lower end card for around $300US are showing very descent benckmarking results. Come on give nvidia a Hell YEAH!!

i eh know yet nah....like the 6800 ultra.....sounds like some good shit...but most of dem new cards gonna start switching pci-x soon if not already so wtf these mb companies waiting on amd want a selection of mb with pci-x to yuh know

nvidia has birdge chip so slap one on and chip work with either agp and pci-x bus. might be slower on agp but still the performance

I'm looking at the X-700 pro 256mb , yes Nvidia is better thanks to SM3 support, but the 6600 non GT is real slow next to the X-700s, the 6600 GT 256mb is 250 US ...

6800 non ultra rawks, 256mb for 330 , you can flash it to 6800 GT/6800 ultra EASY .

get the latest version of Riva Tuner , there is an option to enable/disable pipes . It may not work/result in texture and image corruption , but if it does you significantly increase perofrmance .

i use to use Ati for many years dread and i know the pain. so is forward nvidia. i personally own a gf4 ti and getting a new one years end. while the ati maybe faster i know for sure with nvidia i dont have to screw everytime i install updates, bend when a game dont agree and have to wait for driver updates and screw when i see a "way its meant to be played" logo.
