Its supposed to be out in AGP several months after the initial release , there are 3 models, the X-700 XT, which is at the same clock as the 6600GT   but faster in all benchmarks except doom, the X-700 pro which is clocke at 420 mhz core 860mhz mem and about the same speed as the 6600GT, and an X-700 non pro, clocked at 400 core, the same speed as a 9800 pro

X-700 XT : 249USD
X-700 pro : 199USD
X-700 : 149USD

they may change the prices/clocks before release....

700xt is now priced at $199 us for the 128 version . Ati feared lossing to many customer to nvidia so they changed the price. the 700pro come with 256 mb memory but slow clock for gpu and memory

good news for everyone  , The 9600s and X-600s will fall straight into sub 100 catagory , 9800 pros will fall  to around 150 as soon as X-700 AGPs are out...   The x-700s should be able to clock like mad , like the 9600s can . .11 process has alot of o/cing potential in it, The X-300 pro overclocked 150mhz :0 , hopefully we will see similar results from the x700.

    can you say w0w  :shock:  these things are close to the 6800 non ultra in performance.... can't wait to see someone overclock them .

under overclocking, it beats the 6600GT in DIII !
the X-700XT scores close to the X-800 pro , beats out the 6800 with AA on!

i say wait and  buy the next generation card
if u buy the 9800 pro u will eventually have to get one of hte newer ones
but if u buy a next gen card u wil have a while before u have to updgrade it

the X-700 XT is significantly faster than a 9800 pro, faster than a 9800 XT! , not to mention that by the time it comes out it would be shipping with Half Life II on CD  !

  If anyone read the arcticle on Cat. 4.10 : ATI is using HEAVY optimizations BUT the user now controls them , use of optimizations gives them +10 fps in some cases in DIII  without any IQ loss .

some germans got their hands on a sapphire X-700 pro 256mb, and managed to overclock it right up to X-700XT speeds on stock cooling , ATI's test samples are usually poor overclockers as we have seen before , with the first X-800 pros pushing a meager 20mhz above stock , we might see even BETTER overclocking  capability soon , the HIS X-700 pro is supposed to ship with a massive cooler , i'd love to get my paws on one of those .

right now there is a huge buzz being supressed by ATI that their PCI-X cards have hardware issues. right now heads are rolling. 2 companies have had to make official statements denying the validity of the statements which is yet to be publicly published other than in the form of rumours. yet 3 sites have been told to drop the story which is based on a leaked report on the results of their hardware after testing. ATI is crying that nvidia and others are trying to saboutage its market share. who knows but the situation is interesting never the less.

of COURSE nvidia is trying to sabotage ATI's market share : the have 90% of the PCI-X market , nvidia is very desperate to get a peice of it seeing that PCI-X will account for more than half the video card sales in 2005 . Nvidia even went so far as to take Xrays of ATI PCI-X cards, and  claim that some memory buffer was actually an AGP-PCI bridge . etc. etc.
