What can I say? Some people are just plain HEARTLESS.
Those innocent children had their whole lives ahead of them, and yet, in the midst of some stupid conflict, they are the ones who pay the price. Why?

All for the sake of political reform?
Truly, we are living in the end times. And our children would probably even have it WORSE, given the example being shown by the adults of today.

terrorism is a serious scene.

a very real threat and heightened security and proactive law enforcement is the only readily available counter measures. Officials in Russia are resigning as a result but it would have been better to up the ante in the fight against terror rather than throw in the towel.

the world is in flux like it was in the 1970s , would be terrorists have been encouraged by the effect of  the 9/11  attacks . They are finding funding and resources . They have motive with the US invading Afganistan , Iraq , Russia invading Chechnya .  The only defense against terror is alieviating poverty and educating people . Most islamic militants are illiterate and so take the word of their spiritual leaders who say Muhammed allows them to kill the Isralis for taking land .
If the terrorists had jobs and productive lives they would be less of them willing to die for whatever cause they believe in .

A rare occurance indeed, I actually agree with Trinireturnstillnotspellingitright! Ignorance and poverty are the cause of much of the degradation of society, I also think that to the better off portion of the world, family time is also wanning quickly. The up and coming generations are TV watched, microwave driven drones with no real sense of family life and morals. It all starts somewhere and in the home is where I think it is.  Till we get some fathers and mothers back into the home and not wasting their lives away working things will only continue to fall. Also the way the world is structured (politically, financially) those same parents have to work to support their family, so its almost a no win situation. We need to start at the top and the bottom and meet somewhere in between.

« Reply #6 on: September 09, 2004, 09:51:45 AM »
The world is only going to get worst until the messiah comes to alleviate the pain of the worthy. The world makes less and less sense everyday, it is comprised of clones in every aspect, and everyone wants to be part of some faction or another to gain a sense of belonging. I am a firm believer in “the root of all evil the love of money”. We are driven by it, by the need to have material things and we have lost focus on everything else. This is a time where our idea of entertainment is to pay for DirecTV to watch MTV, where the programming consists of shows like Cribs. Is it really that entertaining to watch Shaq boast of his 80 foot bed, or his 23 inch wheels? I predict in 50 years this era would be defined by the world’s obsession with tattoos and love for cars. As for terrorism, that’s a lost cause, even Bin Laden had no idea what he was doing. He never thought that he would have opened Pandora ’s Box like this. Those buildings were purposely designed to withstand the impact of a plane. He thought he would have left a huge hole, a Tag if you would. Something to say “Bin waz herr!!!” but he got a lot more than he or I bargained for. Now I work 45 hours a week for my loving Uncle Sam to take 23% of my salary for taxes to fund a misdirected war. Yesterday the newspaper reads on the front page “1000 dead”. My question to that is, 1000 marionettes dead, for what? This is not about dead soldiers. Because they truly are not heroes, they are designed to kill. Anyone familiar with the quote from the greatest book of all? Violence begats violence. I have no pity for soldiers dying because they are out there killing. I wrote this out my head so I’m sorry if I lost you in the leap from thought to thought. The main points are; the world has no direction, no morals, no ethics. We are ruled by greed, blinded by jealousy, anger and hatred. Everyone wants power or money, no one wants to work for it. I’m glad to see the youth can bring up points on the position of the world. Life consists of a balance, for all evil, there MUST be good. The only thing that is left to do, is to raise your kids the right way, it maybe the way you were raised, or it may not be. But we need to teach our children right from wrong at an early age. There is no saving the world, but we can save ourselves.
And as I sat down on the couch, reached down and grabbed the controller, I most nonchalantly looked over, barely gracing him with my eyes. I uttered calmly these simple and truthful words. \"Spread ur cheeks and bite down, cause now you are F*@%ED!\"

YEAH MAN!!! GAMING FOR PEACE!! , gamers already have a bad name thanks to small minded old people who say if you play SofII you can learn how to use a  sniper rifle .
Gaming for peace would be cool.....  could probably add that as our slogan 'gaming for peace'

the world was always this bad, when stupid wars were fought and still being fought in the name of religion, even though one of the ten commandents is "thou shall not KILL"
come on abortion is rampant and even accepted in certain places, classified as not murder

the world is, was, and will always be messed up, we just have to do our part to TRY to make things better, cause we are livin in HELL and get tastes of heaven once in a while

so stop askin stupid questions like whats wrong with the world and start to ask ourselves how we can make things better

Its quite sad to see what happens to people when they mix religion with ignorance... And its quite sad to see so many Ignorant responses on this thread.. Most terorist are not illiterate actually many of them are highly educated and wealth judged by worldly standards. But in a world with many traditions and different religious backgrounds we cannot expect people with monosthetic religions to openly accept strange practices....
I remember in the autobiography of the Dali Lama one of the Chinese officals told him that religion is a slow and dangerous poison that pollutes and kills the mind and the ambition of the people. He was right to a certain extent but i would put this in terms or religion with ignorance and the ability to understand that religion should be used to finding peace with oneself and his human faults and qaulities  and not to subjugate others into their religious beliefs...
At one point in time Islamic practitioners was looked upon as the bringers of new technology in mathematics, astronomy and nautical science , engineering and development of a fair judicial system... But then asusual islamic fundamentalism has brought not only a down fall to their own system but has blinded many young men whose talents should be used to build back their great cultural past and there future in our world. Encourage them to strap bombs to themselves for a blind cause.. It is true that there are many people who are persecuted for the belief in islam but so to are many people who are persecuted for their right to freedom of speech, sexual oreintation and also freedom of political rights...

But there is no need to bring innocent lives and the destruction of the worlds fragile capatalist based economies for the benefit of your own ignorant posionus systems

well i have to say that i agree with you. Its a sad thing when people kill innocent children, they are our future and what are we showing them that war is the only way problems in this world can be solved?
religion is something that which teaches peace atleast mine does. I hate it when people use God as there excuse to kill another human being. God teaches love and fogiveness, not hatred.
but these people who do these things truly have no heart and believe that what they are doing is right, they are not stupid.
everyone makes there own choices in life, everyone is responsible for themselves and there actions.
so neb its not all the Pope's fault.
