LOL@Baego

Yeah it has wireless uber fast net at movie towne(i think the dumb IT Manager capped it though), but there's not really a sure way to connect because I myself don't know how to connect to that thing. If you connect then you hatta be real good because all the customers who tired so far were unable to get a 100% connection.

lol @ angelus de sell out.

I ran into some trouble as supreme said, couldn't connect on my first try.

Went back another day and met with IT Manager and we were able to get online up by Ruby Tuesdays.

My wireless strength went from 1mb , 2mb and 11mb depending on where we were.

Internet wasn't as fast as that. Decent speeds though. 30K/sec downloads. Looks like a 256k internet connection at the back end of the wireless network.

Free internet iwmc.

Baego you coulda ask him to uncap it one time. He real stingy jed.
In the manager and executive offices speed use to be 100-150kb/s, but then I woke up one day, went to work, sat behind the desk and loaded up iexplore. To my utter displeasure, the internet was running at an astounding 3KB/S!!!!!!!!

I started cussin immediately, but it goes to show how selfish some people are.  :hymc:

That's not stingy, that's just good management of his companies resources. As a net admin his job is to think about the company first...they don't need a bunch of people bogging down their network trying to get free net access. While I would be the first one to try to get past the cap on the bandwidth, I thought I'd just make sure that people know that the dude is just doing his job.

So why does the public get better speeds that the company?
If he had to cap it, at least cap it at 10kb/s or something, why in the world would u cap it at 3kb/s?!?!?!?! The backbone connection is 1.5mbs I see no possible reason why it would need to be capped at 3kb/s with so much bandwidth to feed off of.

Carib-Link DSL providing them with the service.
An IT guy told me they need that speed for the auto-update system that's built into the software we use on the registers.

OK, just because a company has a slower internet connection doesn't mean that they have all that extra bandwidth. Most companies have a slower net connection than LAN or WAN. They may need that extra bandwidth for their LAN, realize that traffic you create is broadcasted and hits alot of places, using more than just the bandwidth for their web connection. Also as a net admin a person HAS to make sure there is room for expansion and also for things such as packet floods i.e. LSA flooding, even DoS. Redundancy is important to keeping the network up.

I think I'll continue to play this side of the case...
