Now normally most people wouldnt have a clue when i mention the previous Evo tournies but it seems this year it just might be different. Ah well might as well just post a link instead of yapping

Evo seems to be gathering some attention this year. Namco unveiled Tekken 5 yesterday @ Evo and as seen above Gamespot has been covering the tourney as well.

Daigo got eliminated from CVS2 by Eddie Lee

Justin Wong made final 8 for CVS 2, Super Turbo, Third Strike, and MVC2.

Oh yeah Imperial JUSTIN BEAT SOO 3 - 0 in a money match mirroring soo's team (MSP) .

btw he beat soo with 3 OCV's

The only character capable of an OCV vs Soo would have to be mags. He tears teams to shreds in freaking SECONDS.

Soo was the last hope of beating Justin , Sanford pulled a no show this year . Unless Wong gets like some kinda super virus before tonight , then they might as well just give him the money and let him retire.

Street Fighter 3 3rd Strike Results

4th Place - Raoh
3rd Place - Justin Wong
2nd Place - Daigo Umehara
1st Place - KO

The final match between KO and Daigo was a repeat of last year's final with KO's Yun getting the best of Daigo's Ken. But it was the Losers Semi Final that was the real standout.

Daigo Umehara vs Justin Wong

Daigo paces, and gets a sweep and a psychic Dragon Punch. Daigo hits a SA3 (Ken's Hurricane Kick Super) on Wong and TAUNTS him. Daigo gets another Dragon Punch to win round 1.

Wong hits an early SA2 ( the lightning leg super) with Chun Li in round 2, and Daigo misses a Dragon Punch. Daigo does some CRAZY parrying on Justin's SA2 (he parries all 14 ground hits) super jumps to air parry the last hit and then hits him with a combo on the way down (cross up MK, cr MK, Uppercut xx SA3. The crowd goes INSANEEEE. Wong gets took. Wong then gets rushed the f**k down next game, Wong gets 3rd Place.

lol @ Daigo winning Guilty Gear. I mean, he got his as whipped at the SBO 3 on 3 tournament thing.

I actually had thought to myself that Daigo would place second in 3s. Anyway, at least we don't have to put up with Ino's winning celebrations this time around. Man is he ever annoying.

And super turbo, my word. No one else had a chance at winning really than the beast himself. His Ryu is rather psychic.
