no matter how tempting all this sounding. I absolutely refuse to buy another piece of hardware till they break the 4ghz barrier, and the 256mb vcards come out.

Yeah yuh doh like it.... but what do you need???

You could spend $600 on an OEM audigy2 but yuhe get sound storm Free!!! And don't even think bout buying a SB live or Audigy1 because Sound Storm is better sounding and faster than both (you do need sound don't you)

As for on board Lan... I've neve had any complaints about it, it is more or less standard equipment now i guess

You could buy serial ATA seperate in the form of a card for like $300 or so i reckon... but do you really need it? (Serial ATA is a new form of Hard Drive interface that is supposed to be super fast - but in reality the results we see now put it around the same speed as regualar IDE channel)

USB 2.0 is a must but comes standard on all new boards today

The bottom line is: If you need something you don't have to go with a seperate card, on-board solutions have come a long way (except maybe for GFX) most on board solutions are comparable to their PCI counterparts... you just have to make sure you know what you want and what you are getting.

Yeah it has all those things... i wouldn't reccomend any gamer use on-board gfx though...

If you are buying a nfoce board try to buy on with the Nvidia Sound Storm, to ensure this the southbridge chipset will be lablled "MCP-T" or MCP2-T" the ones without are "MCP" or "MCP2"
