"According to one of the producers of the proposed live-action TRANSFORMERS movie, the stage is set for a new announcement to take place. At the official website for producer Don Murphy, you can click on the image of Optimus Prime and a window will open stating that a "major announcement" will take place at this year's San Diego Comic Convention. Comic-Con kicks off this coming Thursday and runs until Sunday, July 25.

Since we already know that Murphy and X-MEN executive producer Tom DeSanto are onboard and have been developing it for the past year, the announcement will likely be for where the TRANSFORMERS movie has been set up at. Rumors have swirled that DreamWorks and Sony Pictures have been vying for the property but so far no hard facts have crystalized -- yet. We may even find out that there is a director and a writer now attached to the nascent movie project.

according to Ain't it Cool News a certain BACK TO THE FUTURE director is interested!!! to helm movie!?"

'Live-action'?
I don't know if that sounds like such a good idea....I'm thinking that it would be better as an anime, or even a 3-D movie, like the TV series Beast Wars.
I do know one thing, though....the original Transformers movie rules thy bases. Baw.
But I'm not totally sold on the idea of this new movie. Sounds like a rumour to me.

i aint know bout thunderbirds-dat look like a kids show to me. de first transformers film was real good, but u cant compare dat to power rangers cause power rangers was based on actual ppl-how dey go make dem robots boy...dat budget hadda be kinda big

Ok if they do bring a live action i hope they dont screw up and beast wars was cool it was beast machines that was utter crap

Thunderbirds 2020 (Anime) and the original Marionette Thunderbirds are the only acceptable ones in my opinion.

I am anxious to see what a new Transformers movie would look like

Needless to say, The Transformers are based on the hugely popular Japanese toy line from the 1980s, which spawned a few comic book series and a hit TV show. Cartoon Network is readying another animated Transformers series."
