well as you all know the anime world (well at least the one in t&t) is being overwhelmed with people just going gaga over the new wave shit like naruto and hellsing which seems to be taking over....not often do you hear people talking about a good old school anymore...what about ninja scrolls and others....come on people i'm sure alot of people nowadays who call themselves otaku don't even know of a good old school...so give me some feedback and let me know what you think is going on with otaku and the apretiation for old school

trust me angel of mercy i feel ur pain. Alot of people are forgetting some of the relaly good classic
anime movies and series which defined the phenomeom of anime. Yet at the same time i can
see why people are forgettin them, its old news. Personally i have seen movies like blood lust,
scroll, akira and ghost in the shell like over 50 times each, after a while the tend to get pretty
boring.

but seriously guys think about the concequences of your actions and the future you are creating for yourself.....is this what you will be saying when the generation moves on and all the coveted anime you so enjoy becomes old school? think about it...is this what you wanna be saying when stuff like naruto goes old school?

Now I agree classic anime eg: Scaredy Cat, Blood Reign Cure of the Yama and a ton of others including series like Astro Boy and G Force should be remembered but even though they are far from the minds of modern otaku in T&T there is hope. Of course remakes are cool (Astro Boy) but the concepts digress a little from it's "origins" this is because artist change the industry changes and fans expectations have obviously changed and while it important to reflect on the  anime of yester-year, at some point we have got to say Good Bye. That's life man, Rurouni Kenshin's saga has ended (I still cry :) ) and it's the destiny of all things on Earth, so y'all best enjoy Naruto, Full Metal Panic and Full Metal Alchemist etc while you can destiny will catch-up eventually.

ever heard of the sayin to mch of a god thing is a bad thing, well the same applies to anime.
after a while one tends to become really fed of a particular series and tend to look for a new
series to follow

cerial killer man you need to realize i'm not talking about too much of old school...i'm just saying that the thought and memory of them are not in the heart AT ALL of otaku in this country cause seriously....if not for samurai x then half of the wouldn't even know what a good anime is...i mean who can realy say they were influenced when they had sundanime on sci-fi...or saterday anime on the old cartoon network? as everyone who goes anime city knows that in the very first anime city the majority of the crowd left after samurai x....what does that show? that people aren't aware of what has made anime what it is today and frankly it disgusts me

the_angel_of_mercy you shouldn't let this bother you, I mean the fact that you appreciate the origins so well is extraordinary and I support you all the way, it is obvious not everyone can be a hardcore otaku as you are and thank goodness those RK fans showed-up the money still goes to educating youth of T&T. Rurouni Kenshin on its own is so well composed if even that the average John Doe can appreciate and at atleast that you can be thankful for that . So don't sweat it the_angel_of_mercy that's life

donnt you think that it may have somthing to do with people only now beginning to watch anime?think about it people seing this new anime and want to know more about it so thats what they talk about and all hardcore anime fans have already seen ninja scrolls,
samurai x ect.and may say evry now and again [dat was real bad how jubie] or any old anime character[did so on] but what is shown on tv and what people havent seen is not the oldies so they watch what is new and the people new to anime only hear and see these through other people.if remakes are aloud the new people can get interested in and find out about it for themselves as for the others those who were there for samurai x ,hakousho ect tey have seen it and talked about it so many times they thurst for somthing new that does not change how good they are but the focus has to be set on somthing and that is the new.

I miss old school, that is where my heart is....well what is left of my heart. I like the new stuff but to me the older stuff had more depth, more in it. *sigh*

lol...ok fine maybe i take it too seriously...but i look at "otaku" of today and you can see that some of them barely even aknowlege old school and it's a bit of an insult to true otaku who have spent countless time researching and even growing up with some serious old school shit that has brought anime to where it is

see now thats simple
those bastards jus arent otaku
they just arent

whoe give them this title anyway

they can think that they otaku all u want but if u dont know old school u dont know anything

its like history :a man cant learn the new with out underatanding the old where do you think the New come form

even when an anime is very original eg naruto u can still see remenants of the past in them like
sasuke(though i dont like him anymore) and vegeta just to name one

thank you...i mean look at this....if not for samurai x and anime city more than half of these fools wouldn't even know the difference between good jap-anime and normal cartoons..it's realy dissapointing to see people go A.C. and seem to not have a clue as to what's going on...it's nice to see some of the younger people comming out but they still don't seem to care about anything more than just samurai x and yu-gi-oh and why? only because these are shows that have gone main stream...they barely even know about, acknowlege stuff like akira or the original vampire hunter D...they only know the latest one as it was shown in A.C. how many people remember the original story?
