Phew...finally finished Sacred
« on: July 08, 2004, 11:15:44 AM »
After 80+ hours of gameplay...finally...

Anyone else finished it too? Don't mean to spoil it for anyone so I won't mention much about the ending except that I thought it was sort of anti-climatic for me...

Only got my Seraphim up to Lvl 51 by the end...but was more than enough to complete the final act etc without having to use health potions. Guess it helped that I had like 5 leech life 3% items :)

Last I looked, the log showed that I'd only uncovered like 40% of the map though...granted I didn't go to the tip top corners of EVERY area, but I thought I was rather thorough for the most part...

Now I can get back on to some games that I've been missing out on for the last 3 months or so... :)

lol @ dead mouse button...actually, you only have to click and hold down to continuously attack...dunno if that was because of an update that I downloaded or not tho.

Best I could do now is offer my save games and exported character...cos as I have done with all other game that I've finished in the past...the moment I finished it, I backed up the savegames folder and uninstalled it :)

Sometimes that comes back to nip me in the bud though, like when the developers release an expansion pack...I hadda go through and reinstall it :S But it has become a customary part of completing games for me. Guess I'm just used to when my hard drive used to be a whopping 20GB and I used to have to uninstall stuff all the time to make space for new stuff...just habit.

Only the second RPG that I've ever finished...KOTOR being the first :)

This one definitely took the cake in terms of length of time to completion...and I'm glad it didn't go on any longer because I was starting to get a little tired of it...came to a point that I found an item that had "Enemies of lower level die on sight" and equipped it just so I wouldn't have to chop every man jack :)

In the end it was satisfying to be able to uninstall it, even though I think it was somewhat anti-climatic...

gamespot gave it a 7.6 but I think it deserved a bit more credit than that.

Time to go back and finish Far Cry and a boatload of others that have been sitting on the sidelines patiently waiting for me to get through Sacred :)

Congrats. Had to be quite an undertaking. I enjoyed it but after playing for about 15 hours and only unlocking about 5-7% of the map, I knew I'd never beat it. Uninstalled it a few days later.

Btw, the Gamespot review took into account the multiplayer, which I've read is very buggy. MP is important to games like these...that's another reason why I didn't bother to keep it installed too long.

/me is green with envy

soo many games, sooo little time.

The last game I completed was dungeon seige and that feels like aeons ago.

Too little hours in the day. Could barely squeeze in an episode or two of anime let alone a 2 - 3 hour gaming session. Best I does hope for is a quick show down in sof @ the barn or a square off with some unfortunate sucker in any flavour of street fighter on eurotv.

someone invent 48 hour days and be quick about it!

in time for half life 2 / doom 3 at the very latest.

Never tried the multi actually...but I used to visit the official forums of the developers and yes, there are quite a few threads regarding the bugs etc...

Too little hours in the day.

I totally hear that...which is why it took me like the last 3 months to complete it...80hrs over a 3 month span is less than 1hr a day! Truth be told tho, some days I put in 0hrs and then there were some Saturdays where I'd start from 8am and run till 8pm...48hr days could definitely come in handy oui.

ent! or a pill that negates the need for sleep.

I could do so much with that "wasted" 8 - 9 hours.
