A QUICK SEARCH at the US trademark office reveals that when it comes to
naming its chips, AMD has a way to go.
The firm decided to plump for the Sempr0n to describe its newly hatched cut
down Athlon 64 recently, but the WordBoffins at AMD rejected a few first.

AMD Forton
AMD Certus
and the AMD Tegron
Mercifully, AMD has decided that it doesn't want to renew any of these
trademarks, so if you've a mind to pick up on these jewels in the chip
makers crown, they're probably available.
These join other trademarks in the Trademark Graveyard, such as Cyrix
Instead, Cyrix Media Center, Cyrix 5X86, Cyrix Write-Back, and Cyrix 486SLC.
Joining other bones in the graveyard such as Intel's SCREAMLINE (no,
really), Outdoor Intel (not Intel Corp), Intel Dot.Station (remember
that?), Intel-a-Die (dead), Intel Weboutfitter, Intel This Way in (out),
and the long lamented but never to be forgotten Intel "i", an attempt to
trademark the letter, er, i.
