the point is...

before celerons  used to be HALF AS FAST as an equally clocked pentium, and 1/4 as fast as an equally clocked athlon, but now , that has changed..

it is 3/4 as fast as an equally clocked pentium and 1/2 as fast as an equally clocked athlon...

the suffix RON has been vindicated for int3l..

but the athlonXP mobile still 0//nz it.. for 80 US u can reach the clock and performance of an XP3200 AT LEAST... if you are lucky it can reach 2.4GHZ and 0//n the athlon64s

Exactly, the point isnt that its OWNing AthlonXps, is that is even in the vacinity of the cpus. This is a big improvement or even a grave achievement for them to even be on this level :clap:

Dread a celery will never catch up... tell me how it is this site have 2500+ outperformning 2600+ Processor? can anyone spell SUSPECT!!!
A celery would have to reach maybe a 3.2Ghz to perform as well as a 1.91GHz @thlon XP.... and I STRESS MAYBE....

Celeron's are budget cpus and are not ment to compete with AthlonXps, but it is good to see them perform well.

celerons normally have 1/2 the l2 cache of the current penitum processor in this case the precotts got 1 mb of l2 cache therefore the celeron should have 512 about the same of the as the old pentiums so expected performace boost is normal. While the athlon 2600 xp is almost 2 years old which mean it still kicking

so what if the XP2600 is old and still owning the celerons ? my 8500 is old and it still ownz the 5600/5700 non ultraz and the 5700XT.. those sell for more that 100USD and i got mines for 85!

yup very true...although I think that the celeron lack either the L1 or the L2 cache instead of half.

at work iam privied to a sleuth of these blazing celerons

i was like cool a 2.6 workstations
the plebs should be happy

then i take a look just randomlly at the front of the machine and i see celeron instead of pentium and iam like  :shock:

thought it was some kinda twilight zone

celeron is finnally doing what it was made for , a low budget  intel alternative to the pentium
